i have heard, and have on occasion seen, how women can sometimes be, especially when it comes to other women, the competition, they can turn on each other and cut each others throats, for nothing..... Best friends don't sleep with their best friends spouse.
She may know about marital issues. She may believe the husband would be a simple catch if the wife were out of the way. She could be thinking it would be easy to split the two of you up by making that statement.
a lot of questions, a lot of scenarios, then again everything she said could be true.
You have a lot of evaluating to do, who to trust and who to believe...

I would believe the one who has proven to be trustworthy in the past.
She was your best friend, she is not any longer if this was true.
He may deny it and of course doesn't want to give you up
but
he made a choice, didn't he as did she?
Go to marriage counseling and cut off ties from this so called best friend.
She obviously never cared about your friendship if she was sleeping with your husband.
She has made her intentions clear.
Seek truth, it will eventually come out whether its NOW, or 20 years from now.
I would love to help you.
The three of you need to have a honest discussion if that is even possible.
If you know in your heart that what she said is true and still want your marriage then make a choice to stay on conditions of therapy otherwise call a lawyer.

you have to really think about this and decide who you trust the most, and see if he can look you in the eyes as he denies it. Perhaps he did have an affair with her, but perhaps she wants to break the two of you up so that she could, or it could be that he husband, if she is married or has been married in the past, did this to her and she wants to have you as another victim as well as a friend. this is something that you have to decide for yourself and we can't help you make that decision.

I would believe your best friend. She probably feels bad and tried to come clean and since your husband obvisouly doesn't care about your feelings since he is cheating on you, he denied it. Besides "nothing would ever make him give me up?" doesn't mean he didn't cheat, it means that he wouldn't want to get rid of you.

Tell your girlfriend to bring you proof (i.e video etc) and when he denies it again have your brother or father beat the snot out of him. That or take 1/2 his money and the kids.
