While U.S.A seems to be in a down spiral, Canada is doing extremely well. It is producing a fiscal surplus for the last 10 years, their debt is being reduced significantly, their currency is worth more than the American, and their economy is getting stronger every year. On top of that they are able to have universal and free health care system and an excellent school system.

Does that mean that the Canadian parliamentary system is more efficient than the American presidential system?

The parliamentary government has a great advantage... it checks the executive branch much more strictly and gives more power to the legislative body as a result. The executive is also a member of the legislative body so he is bound to their procedures and has to communicate them much more than a president.

At the same time there is a argument that his powers would be severely limited during a war time or crisis situation and slowly grind the wheels of action. Then again, it worked under Churchill.

Looking at our current president I wished that the legislative body had a lot more power... and I fear for this country when the executive branch gets more and more powerful.

Apples to oranges my friend. The Canadian parliamentary system more closely resembles the American Congressional system, being that they're both legislative bodies.

Hardly... The Canadian system is a fine system...for Canada...AND it's quite similar to the U.S. bicameral system...BTW...Both are born from the British system.... One of the biggest problems the U.S. has is simple...We pay for the military that protects the whole North American Continent...In essence..the Canadians have the ability to enjoy the protection without the associated cost...Canada also watches their borders and does not spend BILLIONS on supporting illegal immigrants AND their population is a fraction of the U.S....AND they don't send Billions to support governments all over the world that hate us...The list goes on...but I'll stop here. Canada is a fine country with fine people....But with a lot less financial responsibility than the U.S..... If you have a MARKETABLE SKILL OR TRADE ...MAYBE they would let you in to live for a while...try them out...

Depending on your point of view.
Our dollar is not "rising" the U.S. dollar is falling causing ours to come to par.
We have limited rights under our Charter of rights & freedoms, as compared with those guaranteed under the constitution.
We do not elect our leader, but rather the party comes to power & chooses their leader. This is never a majority rule, as the vote is often split 3 or 4 times on multiple parties.

Yes we have universal health care, but it costs the middle class over 40% of their income in taxes!
& finally expect to pay 15-30% more for all goods & services here. Many Canadians who can are doing their shopping south of the border these days, as they realize what they SHOULD be paying for goods & services.
More efficient?.... possibly....is it better?
Well, if you like everything just stated I suppose so....

they most attractive feature about Canada is that they lack a bible belt. perhaps this has a lot to do with their other successes.
