I'm 19 & I've lived in Gainesville (if anyone knows where that is..Go Gators!) my whole life. I can't decide which place to relocate. I work in the healthcare field. & I love the beach! Jacksonville beaches are nice but they don't compare to Miami's beaches.

Both are large cities with a lot to offer. If you want the beach towns, established neighborhoods, and a fixed up downtown go to Jacksonville (cost of living is cheaper as well). Five Points is very nice for both young and old, and is very conveniently located. All of Jacksonville has been renovated and expanded over the past few years. If you want to visit the Orlando amuzement parks several times a year they are only a two or three hour drive from Jax. If you want a diversified, spreadout place full of activities (that all cost $$) go to Orlando. Most people who work in Orlando live in a neighboring community such as Winter Park or Mt Dora, so you can have your choice of lifestyle here as well. Jacksonville is more Southern, and Orlando is more international/touristy. The nightlife is better in Orlando. There is nothing like Buckhead, but you have Church Street (think safer mini-Buckhead with less mixing between vehicles and pedestrians).

Consider Tampa as well.

But between those three WPB is the best. Esp Northern Palm Beach County. Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens area. You will love it here. Don't have the traffic of farther south, and the area is growing and quite lively and the people are friendlier here than in Miami or FtL. Esp if you dont speak spanish.

Well, I would pick Jacksonville cause I live here. Of course traffic is not as bad as the others. Also, we don't have toll roads. There is some construction going on all the way till 2010. We have a bunch of housing here, and it's growing. You can live in downtown if you wanted to, but the condos there are freaking expensive.....Yeah, the beaches aren't as nice but something is something especially if you aren't a tourist base, well you get to have the whole beach.

I can understand wanting to get out of Gainesville. I have lived in Jacksonville and currently live in WPB but I recommend moving to Tallahassee, the best university in the state is there, Florida State.

housing market is crazy in miami. WPB the prices are coming down. Especially in Lake Worth. www.lakeworth.org. Orlando is too far inland, and jacksonville is nasty and smells. Take a few days off and drive south. No farther then ft lauderdale. Then make your way back up north. Make stops along the way. Naples on the west coast of FL is up and coming too.

I would move to orlando.. you can work in the cities outside of orlando too, so you have more options. Start looking to see which city has better jobs for you.. move for the job, not for the beach. You will only be driving 1 hour to the beach anyway if u move to orlando. You can go to cocoa, daytona or tampa area and i hear the water is blue there. i think the cities in central and south florida have more options, especially in my field.

It depends on if you want to live a quieter life or a crazy one. Miami is crazy and a little scary if you are coming from Gainesville. I would look in Orlando.

Stay where you are. You live in a great city and you can get to any beach within an hour Jax., Daytona Ft walton etc. Not only that you can see all the games played in Gainsville.

Lots of healthcare opportunities in the south! Lots of older Floridians need healthcare pros. Good luck
p.s. few beaches can compare to tropical beaches! If you end up in South Florida We can help with housing!
