After the Red Sox won in 2004 and the White Sox won in 2005, I figured the Cubs would be next. But though it still hasn't happened, they have been a good team in recent years. You have the makings of a championship caliber team, with a good mix of quality players, especially on offense, and a solid manager. But yet the Cubbies keep underachieving and failing in the playoffs. They were my pick for N.L. Champion this year, along with the Mets. But if anything, they are way overdue.
Don't worry, they will be World Series Champs ( when we have flying cars and establish colonies on Jupiter).

The Cubs will win the World Series about the same time The Lions win a Super Bowl; two years after a moose obtains a degree in Civil Engineering, from Cornell University.

Hey the Cubs are a few utility players, and some pitching away from contending. They had a good year, and they should build off of that. I give them maybe 2-3 years before they become the beast in the central to contend with.

Edit: Wooley Booley again the Tigers won the World Series in 84.

Hopefully after the Giants win one. If the Cubs win a World Series Championship, everyone will look at my team.

Anyways, how long should you guys wait. Well after Steve Bartman, the loss to the Diamondbacks......Well it looks like....

FOREVER!

The Cubs are on the right track and it should be a year-to-year possibility for the foreseeable future, and not a century-to-century problem like the last 100 years.

until the Cleveland Indians win a World Series championship so grab your Chief Wahoo gear and cheer on the Tribe. We win it all now you have less time to wait for yours. It is mandatory that the Indians win a championship first.

Small steps. This year a division title, next year, they make it to the second round, in two years, they will win the pennants and the following year the world championship!

How's that for optimism!

I don't think you should wait any longer. All Cubs fans can jump off the bandwagon at this time.

It's frustrating. It's still fun to think "next year".Hey, I have to suffer with the Detroit Lions-haven't won squat since when-1957 or '58? They suck this year as well.
I'm a die hard Tiger fan-we hadn't won since 1968.
