If you actually take sandpaper and rub it in places where you want the worn look to come through, that works. As for a razor blade, it will put holes in your jeans if that is what you want, but wash them so that you get a frey look around the hole. Don't dry them, unless you want them to shrenk.

Do the razor blade bit and then wash the jeans. Washing them will cause the threads to separate. The more you wear them, the more the tears will wear out, making the holes bigger.

Well, I would tell you to just go to abercrombie and buy yourself a pair.. but truely the "ripped jean look" is out and skinny jeans and wide legged jeans are in and jeans with cute pockets like lucky jeans or anything you see at buckle. if I were you I wouldn't bother. you might want to wait till spring to put that razor back out.

Make a tiny cut about an inch long in the direction you want the tear to go, and then tear it by hand from that starting point. If you can't tear it, get someone who can.

cut a hole just *** enough to stck your 2 pointer fingers in, then just rip.
if you dont want the hole to get bigger then sew a little stitce at the ends of the tear like this X---------------------X
stitch--tear--stitch
if you want to fade/distress them then rub scissors down them so itll sort of shave off some of the fibers and make the fabric thinner.
wear them alot and wash them alot

make a very small hole with something sharp then just tear as big as you want, you could try just putting a stitch either end of the tear to prevent them splitting any further x
