Why do some Whites keep complaining about Racism?

Of all things for them to complain about, don't you think racism should be the last? Some are so intent on being a victim too. They also have the lamest reasons.

Many complain about things out of ignorance like Affirmative Action. First of all, it doesn't help, black people are still denied jobs on account of their race 80% more than accepted for one because of their race. Some white people also complain about BET and demand a WET channel. Since when did every other single channel on the entire television not have a white person in every frame? Come on.

White people control everything and put themselves everywhere. If you aren't white you're interest are last to be filled. I can't think of one actually offensive white stereotype. Accept the small you know what one. What legitimate reasons do white have to complain about racism? I have yet to see one. I believe they are just in denial and refuse to accept the fact that the White Privilege exists.

Yummy mummy, I do know that Affirmative action is a form of racism, but at the same time, blacks are still not hired simply for being black much more often. Everyone experiences racism, quite like being bullied in school. However, it is like the popular kid complaining about it when the fat kid gets his face crammed in the toilet everyday.

Affirmative Action is not a racist policy as it has benefited white women more than any other group. Furthermore, it's not just applicable to blacks in terms of ethnic minorities. The ONLY people in this country who do not benefit from affirmative action are white MEN. If you want to say that quotas are racist, I agree and so does the government and that's why they're illegal.

I'm sorry to the person who lost his job and was told off of the record that it was about progression but I've missed out on a lot of things to. Watched internships, jobs, recognition go to people who were infinitely less qualified than I am. I've had people approach as if the only reason that I had a job or an internship was because of the color of my skin and acted like I had to prove myself to them when they went to schools that I'd never heard of before, barely graduated and couldn't string a coherent sentence together if the Devil was sitting on their shoulders demanding their souls. I went to a solid top tier school, graduated with honors and do my job well but no one seems to notice that since their minds were made up before I ever said a word.

We all find ourselves in positions that are unfair. People profit when they shouldn't and people are rewarded when they don't deserve to be. This is a fact of life and we accept this as a fact of life as long as we're being passed over for a rich person, or a better looking person, or a person with better connections. It's only a huge problem when race is factor and that goes for everyone regardless of their color. Maybe the problem isn't racism, maybe the problem is our mentality and preoccupation with race.

That's what they're saying anyways. If it's not helping, why are we keeping it. It's already gone in Michigan. And people get denied for a lot of reasons aside from race - age, sex, sexual orientation, religion.

Yea, that 20% is probably comprised mostly of whites, but there's a whole lot of whites in that 80% too, so don't think all whites control everything because that would just be illogical. There are a lot of whites struggling just like everyone else.

I can't think of one actually offensive white stereotype. RESPONSE----Here's a few: Whites smell like dogs when they get wet, they can't dance, they are serial killers, the women are whores, the men are pedophiles, and their anatomy is smaller than black men, white women have pancake butts, no lips, etc. etc.

There are instances of individual racist acts committed against whites everday. Haven't you heard about the 13 year old boy who was brutally beaten by the pack of black kids until he had a concussion? What about Duke? What about Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom who were brutally raped and murdered by four black men and one black woman. And these are only the ones that make it to the national news.

White privledge is real because there is still racism against blacks. But, to deny that whites experience hate and discrimination because of the color of their skin is ridiculous. It happens all the time.

There is no question racism exists. There is no question whites have been an offender of it. Not just other races....but even within our own race.

I just know it has been drilled in me since a youth what racism is. Sexism and any other ism. Had to, to break us of our own ignorance. So in learning what it is....changing those views etc...it's not a real stretch to see the obvious when it's done to you. Not for what you have personally done...or how you have acted....or what you have said....but as a constant club for wrongs done in the past.......simply because of the color of your skin.

True equality doesn't require "special" considerations. It should be based on each individuals talents etc. without their sex or color being an added consideration to tip the scales in either one direction or another.

You should have no more a right to something based on color than being denied something on the basis of color.

I know a bit of what that's like being a woman. We were denied work opportunities....heck I even remember when I was young....girls were not allowed to take shop or architectural drawing.....those were the guys courses. Just like guys couldn't take home-ec or home decorating. There weren't guy nurses....alot of things like that. So for equality of the sexes....I got the chance to experience things and get a foot in the door simply because I was a woman. Not because I was better at the job. I got breaks I really didn't deserve.....simply because they had a female hiring quota to meet.

I was thankful I got the chance.....but I never really knew for sure if I was doing the job exceptionally well......or if I was their "token woman" and simply tolerated because they had to.

I never did it....but I do know those who couldn't face the fact they weren't cut out for the job and used the fact that they were "women" as proof of "sexism" in the workplace if they were fired. It wasn't sexism......they weren't doing the job well. They got their shot.....they failed. They didn't want equal rights.....they wanted "special" rights.

I am seeing "racism" mis-used today to mean it is a guarenteed in and a guarentee to not be responsible for yourself by using "race" as an excuse when it's not a 100% easy guarenteed rise to the top. Can't be coz you come in dressed like a gang member with a cockey attitude and mumbling and no work experience as to why you didn't get the job. No......must be coz your black. Racism. Can't be you got fired because you didn't do the job well......must be coz your brown. Can't be because so many people complained about your attitude that you are on notice......no...gotta be "race".

You can only use "race" for so long as an excuse for everything. Sometimes it's simply because you are a jerk or aren't doing the job or don't have the grades......not just because of "race". Could be just one of those crappy cards life deals and your "color" hasn't got anything to do with it.

Equal right means equal rights.....not "special" rights.

There have been those of other races who have taken those oppertunities and done fantastic things with them. They are a pride and credit to humanity as well as their race. Yet there are those who still use their "race" as an excuse for their own failings and keep feeding the hate to continue to ride on the coat-tails of some past wrong doing.

Incase you haven't noticed....we have white people in poverty. Being "white" isn't an instant trip to success. We have beautiful neighborhoods here that are filled with successful people of different races. So the oppertunity is there. They made it. They did it. They are Dr's and lawyers and restaurant owners and store managers and Dentists and surgeons and movie stars and sport stars and music stars. EVERY SINGLE PERSON OF A RACE HAVING 100%
SUCCESS isn't proof that "racism" doesn't exist anymore. Every single white person doesn't have it either. Some is simply your own darn fault and your color doesn't have a thing to do with it. Just like it is for white people. Some is due to poverty...being delt a rough hand at the card game of life........it's the OPPERTUNITY.....NOT A GUARENTEE.

If every white person left this country.....I can GUARENTEE.....there would still be slums and poverty and those less fortunate and crime and everything else. Time to start looking at yourself instead of blaming everybody else.

Coz then it will be you're too young or too old or too fat or too skinny or some other reason. There's only so much room at the top.........I don't care if it's black dogs or white dogs or brown dogs or purple dogs. We all can't be IT. Quit using it as an excuse or as a weapon. Then and only then......are we really equal.

As you can tell by your answers, you are correct in assuming that whites go out of their way to be seen as the victim. You can tell by the things they complain about.

I even remember a nutball asking why whites couldn't rally together to "fight for their rights". I wonder if they're actually that clueless or if they're just being dumb.

White people will never admit that white privilege exists because then they would realize just how good they have it.

It may seem odd but I think that white people want to have something to complain about so that they can fit in with minority groups. However petty that may seem, that's what I believe.

I can't think of any other reason why a member of a privileged group would go out of his/her way to complain about the most minuscule things.

Racism and privilege by white people as you call it isn't about color or acceptance .
It is about accountability and contributions.

Blacks have no accountability today .All their actions, no matter how violent,absurd or illegal are justified and or ignored.The few that are incarcerated for heinous and outlandish crimes still cry racism and are often re released to again pray on decent people of all colors.

History clearly proves beyond any doubt that white people are the builders and fighters and makers of American and European culture and society,with only a bear minimal part coming from ALL minorities;
yet this minuscule part of participation in the real fighting and dieing and building and making of America somehow gives ALL minorities the equal entitlements to full benefits and life time acceptance into a society the has worked ,suffered and built America far longer than any minority has even dreamed to even try to accomplish.

I think the solution is simple as to stop paying attention to their cry wolf game. You know they have White privileges, I know they have White privileges, and THEY know they have White privileges. As a result of White privileges we, minorities, have Affirmative Action.

I honestly hope there will come a time when we can eliminate Affirmative Action, but as long as there is that good ol' boy network/White privilege then there will always be a need for AA.

Like I said, stop worrying about White people and create your own diverse environment. That will shut their mouth while YOU are still in control. As long as we have 'the' majority in the authority and businesses there will ALWAYS be problems such as this. Support your own until it's all eliminated and then we can seriously integrate.

You are too integrated with Whites once your start worrying about the diversity in their companies and institutions. Just get in where you can for the time being, make money, venture out, and make your own money. It's the only way...

Have you ever been a male in his 30's and lose a job promotion to a minority or a female that is clearly less qualified and lacks experience? On top of that, be told "off the record" that the company had to move in another direction to avoid conflict and show progression.

Now I am not a racist, but it does stir the pot.

On affirmative action. One person gains a job over another person merely because of the color of their skin or their sex. That's pretty much the definition of racism.

Alright, first of all, if a black man is more qualified, he will get the job, and i don't blame ANYONE for hiring someone dressed in a polo shirt and khakis, over someone with baggy gangster clothes and bling bling. Regardless o race. So what would you rather we do, abolish Affirmative Action? You can't force people to hire black people over white people. You can't.

Most comericals on tv feature minorities, because white people are too afriad to be racist.

I have NEVER seen or heard of anyone asking for a WET channel, and even if we did. For example. Michael Richards says '******' a couple of times (not condoning it, just mentioning) he has to apologise several times on television,

Chris Rock says '******' every other sentence... he says 'cracker' every other sentence... he called a 'comedian'

Rodney King gets beaten... called a hate crime.. cops get out.... los angeles' black community kills white peoiple, raids stores, and riots. Whereas, when a black man, named OJ simpson kills 2 white people. Gets away with MURDER, and no one riots, we acted in a calm and civilized manor.

And aslong as we are talking along the lines of denial... you are just saying that we are priviliged, and you don't get jobs because we are favoured, when in reality, you don't get a job because you aren't educated and experienced enough. You are in denial.
