Ownership NEVER reverts to the other person. They can dispose of the property after notice has been given (in writing) and the required time frame has elapsed.

It never becomes theirs on a time basis.

the party with possession needs to send a certified(rrr) letter demanding the person owning the property dispose of it or, in the event they do not respond or dispose of the materials within 7 calendar days of receipt of the letter, you will consider their non-response as permission to dispose of the items.

You are ONLY allowed to charge for costs of removal and disposal, NOT to sell the items and keep the money. And to recover those costs you would need to sue in small claims court.

I would say if they do not come to get it then it shall automatically be the other spouse's property,UNLESS they say that they want it.If they actually tell you that they do not want it,Get them to sign some kind of paper saying okay that way they cannot take you to court in the future :)
