To the Dems anyone dumb enough to work hard and tries to better themselves without government assistance is "rich". So as a reward for YOUR hard work they are going to take YOUR money and redistribute it for you to those no willing to do the same.

What do you define as middle class? If you mean people and family's making at least 6 figures, then I hope the Dems want to tax them. But in my opinion, both parties do not want to tax anyone progressively enough.
Personally, I don't believe there really is a middle class. There seems to be those well-off people and families and those people and families struggling to make a living and survive (or white collar and blue collar if you will). The middle class is certainly lessening and the huge wealth disparity between the rich and poor is increasing.
The only way to address this undemocratic problem is by taxing those who can afford it, and then meeting the needs of the less well off (social spending, jobs, etc.)

It is funny that the Dems keep saying the rich Republicans but and they want to tax them. They don't say anything about rich Democrats. Do they get by with out paying taxes? But to people like Hillary it is if you have a job and are getting paid for it then your rich and they want it. I think the best thing is to get the fair tax started.

The libs see the 'middle class' as an under-utilized tax resource.
The 'rich' (according to their lights, anyone who makes over $50,000/year is 'rich') are not paying enough but there are not enough of the 'rich' to fund all the socialist programs.
The 'middle' class still has some money to steal and quite a few of 'middle' class are dems so would support more taxes.
The 'rich' are the enemy because of the socialist's desire to own and control everything and everyone. For documentation on this, see the history of the U.S.S.R., Cuba, Communist China, North Vietnam..pah! I could go on for quite a while.
Socialism does not now and has never worked, but the power mad and the greedy always seem to bring it up as a 'way to help the poor'.

You haven't seen nuttin' yet.
If Hillary wins the election she will hand over the tax code to Charlie Rangle so the rich can be taxed out of the immoral concept of achievement.
He considers anyone who owns a clock radio to be rich.
He will also re-institute the draft and the qualifications for service will be based on income. All clock radio owners and above will be drafted into the army and Hillary will start a war.
That will get rid of all those nasty rich folks.

*LOL* the Democrats are always trying to tax the 'rich' and it's everyone under the 'rich' level who end up getting more taxes. the 'rich' can afford tax consultants to help them avoid paying more. Everyone else can't.
But then Democrats are politicians. IF they say what the majority wants to hear whether they can deliver or not they get elected.

What do you call cutting taxes for the rich? BushCo effectively shifted much of government cost down to the middle class while engaging in a "tax and spend" policy that defers payment for the next generation.

Why? Because leftists (democrats, that is) believe that all things belong to the federal government, especially money. We as taxpayers are permitted to keep a portion of what we earn only out of the goodness of the hearts of congressional democrats, as all of that money is actually the property of Big Brother.
Understand, these people believe the government can spend that money much more wisely than the people who earn it. The government wouldn't buy useless things like cars, houses and the like. It would do all of the wise, important things necessary to purchase votes!
So, as they only want to claim to be taxing the rich, libs are going to call everyone rich! Pretty slick, eh?

I see it differently--they want to obliterate the middle class entirely. They want to enlarge social programs to encompass the middle class and tax everyone to do it...
Nothing like us allowing the government to tax us into socialism, but that's what the Democrats seem to want.
As far as the rich goes, that is still the same untouchable 1%. The Liberal social stratification myth is just that. And they use it to pander to the welfare class and to keep Americans divided.
