I think libs probably call them teammates. They are on the same side trying to undermine our President and our troops.

How would you feel if your wife was killed by a missed bomb strike? How would you feel if brother was kidnapped by an invading army that claims your brother is a criminal? You wouldn't fight back or at least support those that do? How would feel after 3 years of no electricity or clean water in your home? How would feel if you lived in constant fear of being detained and disappearing? How would you feel if your country was invaded by mistake because the intelligence was mistakenly interpreted? It's easy to sit here, not dying, and call those people terrorists. Those people are doing exactly what anyone would do if they were under attack.

I think people like you give our troops too much credit. We have 18 year old soldiers and marines over there who are fascinated with idea of legalized murder. Our contractors are committing murder on a daily basis and these people have no police to call, no govt. to protect them, nothing. Here, we just pick up the phone and press 3 digits and police show up to our homes to protect us. In Iraq, if an American soldier is raping your wife, vandalizing your property or kidnapping your little brother, they have nobody to come to their defense. Their only option is to take matters into their own hand.

Keep in mind, these people weren't trying to attack us until we mistakenly invaded their country. These people were in a much better place under Saddam then they are under our occupation. Anyone who thinks otherwise is flat out wrong.

The fact is man, they are not terrorists when they are fighting soldiers in a battlefield. Some of them may indeed belong to terrorist organizations but they are not committing acts of terror but acts of war.

Cindy Sheehan is a complete and total moron, and it is telling that the political left has chosen her as its mouthpiece. Her "freedom fighters" are fighting for the continuation of oppression over the Iraqi people. No matter what you think of this war or why we went, you have to admit our opposition wants to create a theocratic totalitarian state in Iraq just like they have in Iran. how does someone get "freedom fighter" out of that?

I thought these people were insurgents? Even Patreaus and military intelligence said that the overwhelming majority of the fighting is with insurgents.

Do you know the difference between a insurgent from a terrorist?

I am tired of people not even knowing who we are fighting in Iraq. Yes, there are some Al-Quaeda operatives there but you make Iraq sound like they make up 90% of our fighting... estimates have their incidents at 10% and barely.

The people that are targeting US troops are mainly insurgents... what you describe as suicide bombers in markets are not actually targetting Americans but Iraqis... these are Shiites attacking Sunnis or vice versa. People attacking checkpoints are targetting American soldiers and these are mainly insurgents... these are not the same people bombing markets. We are often not even in those marketplaces. We are actually purposely avoiding American force to appease the in-fighting (we are trying diplomacy in tribal disputes) because we don't want to inflame this even more. It is very chaotic in a country where unemployment is rampant and the future is uncertain... You are making this very simple and it is not.

Dude, even the U.S soldiers don't know what to call them. There is no real clear delineation between friend or foe or exactly what group is attacking when. If they don't know, how in the hell are liberals or cons supposed to know. The fact remains, there is Al Qaeda (which are obviously terrorists) and there are alot of other Islamic groups fighting in Iraq as well. And the fact remains that most of the fighting that is occuring is between the Iraqies themselves. They are fighting our soldiers and they are fighting eachother. Some of these fighters have stopped fighting momentarily against our soldiers to get supplied with arms to fight al qaeda and other Islamic groups. But who is to say they won't eventually turn those weapons back on our soldiers. Every report NOT written by the White House coming out of Iraq today is saying that the country is in a civil war. Our soldiers shouldn't even be involved with another country's civil war let alone going to war for oil and military industrial corporate complex war profits.

I call them terrorists.

However, since the Pentagon reported that these foreign terrorists make up only less than 5% of the attacks on US troops, I would also call them the least of our problems in Iraq. The greatest problem is from native groups engaged in a civil war with the troops caught in the middle.

If they are Al Queda they are terrorists. If they are insurgents attacking us they are the enemy and can probably be called terrorists as well if they are using car bombs and blowing up markets, and murdering Iraqis and our soldiers. What else am I supposed to call them? I don't subscribe to the far left nonsense any more than I subscribe to the far right nonsense. Cindy Sheehan is not the poster child for all Democrat's views.

Unfortunately they are freedom fighters because before 2003 they were just Iraqi citizens. You cannot become a terrorist if you were a citizen in a country prior to it being invaded by a foreign army. A terrorist is a criminal who uses terror to negotiate with a government. A Iraqi shooting at a US solider cannot be a terrorist because he is in his own country fighting for the beliefs of his own country. Where as the US solider is not a citizen of the country yet trying to influence the population through violent means.

So lets look at it like this:

the terrorist in Iraq is a citizen of the country and trying to fight out outside influences inside his/her country. the US soilder is not a citzens o the country. yet carries a gun and tells other citizens what to do with threat of violence.

Don't bash Cindy Sheehan because she is an American seeing the situation from an American point of view.

Uh, those who are fighting the army that invaded and are occupying their country insurgents, or nationals.

What do you call the men in 1776 who fought the British, terrorists?

Yes, people who blow up children and other non-combatants are terrorists.

Therefore, Bush, who has murdered tens of thousands of children is a terrorist. (I'm referring not only to the invasion, but his subsequent actions of ordering cluster bombs dropped on residential districts, among other actions.)

I have a question for you. Who has the biggest military complex with the most artillery?

Now for your question, If we were being invaded by another country and Americans chose to fight back for their countries sake then the Americans would be called "Freedom Fighters" and the country invading would be known as terrorists.

This is just called common sense.

Not all are Al Qaeda and it doesn't help to be careless in terminology. Sunni Insurgents are not terrorists. Shiite Death Squads are not terrorists. They are a menace but the term terrorist should be reserved for actual terrorists, and not applied willy-nilly to anyone you don't like.
