Americans have the right to bash other Americans if what they say is true. Hell they do it now wether it is true or not. As far as Iran chanting death to America, I see Americans on here every day advocating starting a war with Iran. Maybe we should not speak out of both sides of our necks. Iran has a legitimate problem about the US and the policies our administrations have used against them. Does the US actually have a legitimate gripe about Iran? For those of you that say the Iran hostage crisis, that was in retaliation for our meddling in who controlled their government. We also helped Saddam with military aid and funds in his war with Iran.

It doesn't bother me one bit. I have faith and trust the fact that I am safe and warm in my home and where ever I go in my environment. They have a right to their opinions. What bothers me is that people get so emotional about these chants. Iran has never attacked us, yet we've done alot of brutal killing and supporting alot of brutal killing of their own people first. I think the chants are pretty mild compared to our history of the way we have treated the people of Iran (and now Iraq).

Delphi... I agree with you. They only chant "Death to America" while our government including Bush and Cheney threatens to Nuke their country. And, actually has the means and capability of carrying it through. After these kinds of threats to Iran and to the Iranian people, what do cons expect the Iranians to say, "Peace and Love, my American bretheren?" While they throw flowers at our feet? My god, what has this world come to?

As far as Americans bashing other Americans, tell me when this never happens? I prefer a discourse that argues the points but I've bashed just as much as the cons have bashed on Yahoo Answers. It doesn't get to any facts of any matters but sometimes I think it's something that helps to blow off steam.

well... saying "death" to another nation strikes me as kind of strong, but I think we all know that we bash other nations too. I mean how many times have you heard people mock France?

as far as Americans... if they have a reason to "bash"... then that's ok, because it's pointing out things that are wrong, and that's the first step to fixing things... bashing for no reason is annoying to me personally though...

Americans bash each other, and kill each other, more than anyone from any other country. If we as a nation aren't going to worry about how we treat each other, why should we worry about people of other countries, throwing an insult or two?

We accept that people have the right to FREE SPEECH. The fact that we don't like what they're saying doesn't change the fact that they have the right to say it.

Likewise I'm pretty sure the average Iranian isn't too happy about always being called "terrorists", "rag heads", "murderers" "scumbags" and all the other insults that crop up here all the time, and I'm damn sure that they hate it when people say we should bomb them/ kill them/ forcibly convert them.

It's hard to take when it comes back at you isn't it?

The USA is home to 25% of the worlds Prison population. That fact speaks for itself. Their are more murderers, kidnapers, rappists in this country, then in any other country on earth.

Everyone has the right to their opinion. I may not like or agree with them. But it doesn't diminish their rights as humans. Of course hearing death to America is disconcerting. In that I'm sure they don't enjoy hearing others say Nuke Em. I'm curious as to why you asked this question to liberals only?
