Congratulations to your Mayor. If all cities in the world could do this, then can you imagine any better place to live this side of Heaven? No, it is definately not a waste of money. If implemented correctly your crime rate will drop drastically and your taxes along with it. Get in there and help him in your community volunteering to start a Neighborhood Watch or a DARE program. You live in a place where someone really cares more about their city other than drawing in money and drug cartels. Good luck to him and to you.

I totally agree with zero tolerance when it comes to crime. I had a whole business stolen from me by an employee that when in on a Sunday and stole everything in the business and the police in this town said there was no crime committed so I'm out $20,000 and I'm still paying on the loan. I used to be in law enforcement and I was so much better than that and it's because of people like the cop that told me "no crime was committed" that I quit.

So my answer is it's a waste of money keeping police officers that refuse to do the job they are being paid to do.

It's not a bad thing, but it is a temporary thing. Since the officers are working on over time the money will dry up and things will go back to the way they were unless the city gives the department that money permanently.

Is it a waste of money to prevent someone from stealing something that belongs to you? Is it a waste of money to stop drug dealers from plying their trade in your town? Is it a waste of money to save someones life that might otherwise have been lost?

Personally I think its a good idea, so long as he doesn't bankrupt the town by doing it.

Well it should clean your city up assuming the Mayor and or police are not corrupt.

What city is it.

How is this a bad thing? A zero tolerance on crime should be a welcome thing. More police on the street means less crime, and giving more law enforcement personnel jobs.

So how is this bad?
