I've just recently started to watch Heroes so I haven't seen much of Season 1. But, I was curious if Claire's father is her real father? Or a step-father?

No thats not really her dad. He was given the child by the bad company he use to work for in the last season to watch over. Her mother claire found last season and can start fire with her hands. she moved to mexico. her father is nathan petrelli (peter's brother) and can fly. He had to give her up when he was a younger politian and had an affair with her mother. becuase nathan's mother is mixed up with the company and claries mother was though to be dead, the company took her from nathan and faked her death. nathan didn't know she was alive till middle of last season

No, it's her adoptive father who worked for "the company." He was just supposed to raise her and then turn her over to be studied when she was old enough but he grew to love her like a real father and couldn't do it. He has been trying to protect her from "the company" ever since.
Her biological parents are Nathan Petrelli who can fly and some lady that can create fire with her hands. She was shown once last season and never again.

Noah Bennett and his wife are Claire's adoptive parents. Her real father is Nathan Petrelli and a woman who can make fire (can't remember her name not a main character).

If you really want to know...he is her adoptive father. You will find out who her real father is later in the season. It was a huge shock.

claire's "real" father is nathan petrelli. when she was born, we discovered in season 1, grandma petrelli, unknown to nathan, gave baby claire to hiro's father, mr nakamura (sp?) and he in turn gave the baby to mr bennett
