Well it would be AMD & Intel.

Celeron is the Lower model for Intel

The Lower model for AMD I believe is sephron? or something like that.

Its basicall the difference beteween a ford and chevy. They'll both get the job done. Its just a matter of prefference. AMD were leading the market for gaming until INTEL came out with the Core 2 DUO.

ANYWAY they are both decent. although the celeron is not very good for any type of gaming which you probably won't do on a laptop. plus it's getting old.

Well there are hundreds of AMD processors, and about a hundred Celeron processors, so it is a bit difficult to compare. Give us some specific model numbers, then we can give you an accurate answer.

EDIT: Well that is a little more specific, specific enough that I can tell you that the Turions are for laptops, and there is no Celeron for a laptop that is faster than even the slowest Turion, so the Turion is better.

Yes its worth it, don't get the Celeron they are way outdated and old, some of them are just old Pentium III's that are overclocked, or souped up, just a way of Intel trying to get rid of its old stockpile of processors, get the AMD Athlon 64, or anything AMD, they're way faster and better performance.
