I once played The Player King. They are thankless roles unless you can make something of them, and here's how. The players must have a theatrical style that is exaggerated and not as realistic as the actors in Hamet are. She is of course convinced that she is so deeply in love with the player king that she would never remarry. So I would try stylized movements and guestures to accompany the somewhat oratorical speeches. This being said, I would ask the director first how he envisions the playing of the play within the play.
