Sound cannot travel through the vacuum of space, but visible light and other forms of electromagnetic radiation can. One of these forms is commonly called radio. The cosmonauts have devices in their helmets which transfer the sound waves from their voices into radio waves and transmit it to the ground (or other cosmonauts in space). This is exactly the same as how your radio at home works. Radio waves are often thought of as a form of sound because of their use in this way, but radio waves are NOT sound waves - they are a form of electromagnetic radiation analogous to visible light, and therefore can propagate through a vacuum.

Ofcourse , sound need medium and this applies to cosmonauts too.
Well in their suits which are tightly sealed have a oxygen cylinder to make them breathe air..and this oxygen becomes their medium and also they have microphone and headphone attached in their helmet which makes it possible to hear and talk.

There is oxygen inside their space suits, and the speakers inside the suits use that oxygen as a medium. The speakers are hooked up to some sort of two way radio

Through radio waves. Their helmet is having antenna, microphone and headphone. Inside the helmet there is air with normal atmospheric pressure. and the sound waves produced by the headphone is carried to the eardrum through this air.

Similar to radio transmission,by converting sound into electromagnetic waves through modulation and retrieving.
