I think all of your names are wonderful. I love old-fashioned names. You're right babies don't stay babies forever. I am going to give all of my children old-fashioned names. Have a great day!!!

I hate that! My favorite girl name is Daphne Margaret, and people always say it sounds too old. I love it!
Mason Conrad Banks -I actually like Conrad a lot more than Mason.
Braedan Parker Banks -I think that Braedan is very trendy, like Aiden, Caden, Jayden, etc. It's a nice name, but he'll be one of six or seven kids of both genders with an -aden name in his class. I would avoid Braedon like the plague.
Sofie Victoria Banks -I like Sophie as a nickname for Sophia. President Sofie Banks sounds very childish, where President Sophia Banks is much better sounding. You Sophia Victoria is nice. I would choose something like Sophia Emmeline Banks instead.
Natalie Emmeline Banks -This is very nice. I like it a lot.
Shelby Lavendar Banks -I don't care for Lavender, because it sounds a little trashy. Maybe Shelby Lucille? I don't like Shelby either. It sounds like an empty name, like Lacey or Cody to me. Not a horrid name, but I like names with more personality and strength. Maybe Chandra, Shannon, Shira, Shiri, Sheila, or Shivani are better options.

Actually, I think your names are nice, and quite current.
Of your choices, I'd use Mason Conrad and Natalie Emmeline.
Actually, if I could mix, match & alter, I'd use Sofia Lavendar for a girl, with the nickname Sofie.

I would avoid unusual spellings of commonly known names (Sofie vs Sophie, Lavendar vs. Lavender) and names that no one will know how to spell (Braedan). You will be cursing the child with having to correct people's spelling all his or her life.
Aside from that, I agree with your logic. Cutesy names are endearing on a baby but a hindrance to an adult, especially a male. I like your choices, except maybe for Shelby Lavendar, which sounds a little like a porn star. But the rest of them are very nice.

I don't think your names are too grown up, and your point is correct about not staying a baby forever, they are going to be adults much longer than they will be babies. Its hard to give a baby a name that will match them their entire lives...but somehow they do. My son is in the 1st grade and has 2 Mason's in his class, their names fit them. And my niece is 4 and her name is Shelby, perfect. Its not like you are going to call them by their full name all the time. I think you have picked beautiful names that will fit children throughout their entire lives.

I like this one the best Natalie Emmeline Banks. I think if you are looking for an name not heard all of the time you could use Natasha. I named my daughter Annastasia Rose.

Part of it may be an association with an older generation- your grandma's sisters are named Agnes, Edith and Muriel, so it's hard to associate those names with a young girl in 2007 (instead of a young girl in 1926).
I agree with the person who said more traditional spellings are the best bet.
