Edge Caliber asked this question:

Is it just me or are these answers really bizarre? The playground mentality has really progressed on this site. Neocons have become liberal, Republicans have gone liberal. If all of you have turned liberal, I'm going to conservatism.

Is it possible that all of this infighting and juvenile name calling is keeping us from discussing and coming up with a solution for REAL PROBLEMS?

If only everyone could be as smart (and as hot) as you.

I got out of the politics section since there's so much dumb name calling. It's useless. If you wanna discuss REAL PROBLEMS, politics isn't the place to do it.

Actually, edge caliber is only reinforcing what I've been posting for a long time.

Politics is cyclical, especially with a 2 party system. Each party takes an opposite stand to each political view, then they square off.

Look at Rudy Giuliani. If he gets elected, he'll be the first pro-choice GOP President. Then the Democrats will have to put up a pro-life candidate to counter him and peel away the religious votes in the 2012 election.

So what you are seeing by edge caliber's question, is that Bush has taken a liberal stance on many issues by doubling the size of the Dept. of Education by NCLB, doubling the size of Medicare with the drug program, and running up massive debt.....eg: so-called liberal Democrat policies.

Which counters Bill Clinton who balanced the budget and approved welfare reform by signing it into law....eg: so-called conservative Republican policies.

pink: My point is that doubling the size of the Dept. of Education with a program such as NCLB, is generally attributed to a liberal ideal/policy. Most Republicans want to do away with the Dept. of Education all together, and allow the states to make the decisions.

Your use of the word Liberal in talking about name-calling is offensive.

Neocons are the group of people that honed name-calling to the sharpness of a knife going into the flesh and drawing blood. As a liberal, I have been called everything from a "Friend of Osama's" to a liberal w***e. I have been told I should be lashed to a bomb and dropped over Baghdad. And those are the mild insults.

Liberals have been the most reticent about name-calling, until we drummed up the courage to call the president a liar, which is simply telling the truth. John Kerry didn't call George Bush that name, even though he should have. By the time you Conservatives got through Swift Boating him and calling him a coward, and with the intimidation of minorities at the polls, he lost the election.

It is high time Liberals started fighting back against this pack of jackals who tell lies about our heroes, sneer at the 9/11 widows, and call the Poor lazy slobs. So, don't complain about Bizarre. Conservatives invented bizarre when they stood silently as the president looted our Treasury and led us into war.

Another thing. Stop trying to put your political beliefs into what should be a great question. Have Yahoo Answers sunk to a new low? What has that got to do with Liberals? Stick to the subject and air your political views openly and honestly....and elsewhere.

I agree. I think that it is a shame that we cannot use this forum to get real answers to real questions. The questions that actually get answers are reminiscent of tabloids, and have no bearing on our future as a country. Perhaps we deserve exactly what we get, if we don't care enough to involve ourselves in the issues we face as a nation. If the American people have degenerated to a bunch of parrots spouting one-liners, they cannot expect anything better of their politicians.

I don't how sinking to a new low is even possible, given the amount of stupidity and ignorance that has dragged this forum to the bottom of the barrel. I would have thought most rational people would have come to this conclusion by now.

You say that Republicans have gone liberal. Well, don't blame Yahoo. Just listen to what the Republican presidential hopefuls are saying. Are all the real Republicans gone? Even the frontrunner, Rudy, is making noises like Hillary

I am trying to stay out of Politics and I am doing a better job since most people on here use this as forum to hate, however in person they more then likely won't act like this.

For every serious, well worded, question it seems that about 20 - 30% of the replies are also worth reading. The rest speak from either pure emotion or pure ignorance.

Take what you can use and leave the rest behind.

Solutions require compromise. I see no sign of that yet. Some people just want to see their image at the top.
