I think we need to be able to do both, as the need arises. Some people give & give, sometimes at the risk of their own heath & wealth, but when in need can not bring themselves to accept help. Others are users, taking anything others will give, both physical & psychic vampires, they leave you drained. There is a balance, a middle way. Give when you can, as you are able, openly, freely & without expectation, otherwise it is not really giving but taking a hostage. Yet everyone will come on times of need in their life, be it money, emotional support, or help with a physical need. If you can not recieve when help is truely offered in your time of need, you rob the giver of the joy they recieve in giving. I think we all should learn to be joyful givers & joyful recievers, balance in everything. Thanks one more time for another question that helped me to know myself better. *wink*

Actually no. If you go by acquiring things as todays scale of power, intellect, and status. However, as you know there is more to our character than acquiring goodies (except on Halloween).
