The John Hughes' trilogy (Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink). These movies were released during my sophomore, junior, and senior years in high school - with Molly Ringwald, et al, starring as characters in corresponding years in high school in each movie. The John Hughes trilogy are the primary defining movies for 80's Gen-X'ers - along with Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Weird Science (also by John Hughes).
