can HCL 0.5m(hydrochloric acid) burn clothes?

It's far too dilute. You could drink this stuff without harm (but don't try it!). Boiling 2M HCl on synthtic fibres might eventually harm them, but not cold 0.5M HCl. Just wash the stuff off.
