here you go.
it looks like you can upgrade to a max of 2gb. you have 2 slots so that would be 1gb per slot. and you're right, 200 pin. 2700 is your speed.
i would buy the parts somewhere else though, like newegg.com or something, this place is expensive.

here are some possibilities at newegg.com

Either 2100 or 2700, best to match what you already have unless replacing both.
PC2100 266 Mhz, DDR, un buffered, 200 pin non ecc, cost £34(ish) for 512Mb
PC2700 as 2100 but 333Mhz, £36(ish).
1Gb stick almost twice the price £72(ish.) either speed.
System will run with slowest dimm if mixed speeds. Usually 2 slots, not sure where on that model. Some have 2 slots under cover on the back some have 1 slot there and the other under the keyboard. 2 slots usual max, 1Gb per stick usual max, therefore 2 Gbyte max. Your Inspiron uses Small Outline dimm.

changing snap shots and processors in a computing device is perplexing, if no longer down top impossible. maximum laptops use integrated video, meaning if the video is going, so does the full motherboard. comparable is going for the processor shape, in case your motherboard isn't equipped to shelter twin processor technologies than you are able to desire to wish a clean motherboard with the right socket. i'm afraid i do no longer understand plenty relating to the aspects of laptops, yet i understand that this is not any longer as uncomplicated in a pc to in uncomplicated terms take out the Pentium 4 chip and slap in a clean twin center, whether they're the two Socket 775. The shape is distinct. RAM is conceivable. yet each thing else purely won't be able to be achieved. Or if that's, this is costly adequate to no longer warrant spending the money. Your chum is proper.

PC2700 will work even if your memory is PC2100, but PC2100 will not work if you have PC2700, so go for the PC2700 then you can't lose
