Why is it I only get really horny the week before my period & the week of my period. I mean w/ some four play I can get in the mood the other times of the month but those specific weeks I am like a sex addict (my bf loves it), like I have to have it. I don't have sex while I have my period but I want to, why is that? Is it only me do any other ladies find themselves aroused around thier time of month?

I'd love to answer that. Unfortunately, I can't. I experience somewhat the same. (I'm sexually aroused during all phases of my cycle, but I do experience the greatest sexual arousal shortly before and during my period.)
I've looked and looked for answers until my eyes got tired of reading. But I find nothing but contradictions. At one time, I assumed that women would naturally become sexually aroused during the time in which the female body is urging us to reproduce. Therefore, I reasoned that sexual arousal during ovulation is a given, and that sexual arousal during the luteal and ischemic phases is highly possible (particularly since it isn't written in stone that the egg will die within 24 hours, or even later), as things that are thought of as strange happen more often than many of us realize.
But, as I said, I've read nothing but contradictions. According to the many studies that I've read, there are women who experience the same as you, there are women who experience exactly what I experience, and there are women who have different experiences. Many of the studies came to conclusions that were based upon hormones. But, believe it or not, there were several that weren't linked to hormones at all. There were studies in which women were given non-sexual suggestions that resulted in sexual arousal- some during the same phases of their cycle and some at random times.
So, anyway, I have no clue regarding the whys and hows. All I know is that I'm relieved whenever I find out that there are other women who experience feelings which are the same, or similar, to those that I experience and aren't afraid to share those feelings. Thanks for being one of those women. ☺

I experience extreme sexual arousal about a week before my period begins. When i was in high school i never experienced this arousal effect. It wasn't until i entered college that it became apparrent. It is so extreme that it helps me to know when my period is about to begin. From what i can tell there is nothing you can take to reduce this effect. It may sound crazy but the best way to eliminate that frustration is probably to have sex. Sex might speed up when your period will begin. However i'm not a doctor but i'm just speaking from experience.

OMG ... it's terrible ... like a week before and a week after, I won't leave my husband alone, LOL (i mean he don't mind, but dang) it's our hormones actually, going very rapid.
It's normal, like some people get very emotional around that time, it's different for certain ladies.
Now I won't answer the question on if I have ever had sex during that time, some people have different views on that.

Lol, I have the same exact problem. I think it is due to the hormones. I hate it cuz when I really, really get in the mood and start having all these crazy fantasies I'm afraid to do anything with him cuz I know I'm gonna start. It sucks cuz when I'm on my period I want it sooo bad and both me and him have to suffer by holding out until it's done. Then after my period's done I'm not in the mood like I was when I was on it! Lol, hope this helps and I'm glad I'm not the only one in this situation!

you are not alone. my husband thinks i am possessed and loves it. I every now and again say eff it I cannot wait, and i dont. hormones go wild. I am pregnant now and I am ready to pounce at night like a dog garn maniac. I attack and husband has a smile for days every day. do whatever feels comfortable for you.
