Ok, I didn;t say that he was the best. I said one of the best and that does not include just ten artists.

I certainly think he ranks way up there! I love his solo stuff as well as his Chains stuff, Jerry can do no wrong in my eyes!

Well, he may not be the best, but he's definitely in my top 10. I have a hard time, though, listening to him w/o Layne Staley, though. It's not that I think that J.C. wasn't great, it's just that they were the best tandum in rock history (well, at least one of the best...in my book).

Anyways, Dirt is a masterpiece, and Jar of Flies was brilliant, but too short.

Nope. He may (and I stress that word) be one of the best from the past 10 to 15 years, but he'll never be regaded as being one of the best ever.

I wouldn't say he's in my top 20, but he's definitely in my top 50. He is a wonderful and talented musician, who proved that Alice in Chains could go on without Stanley. I admire him alot.

I think I'm kind of with the concensus on this one. I think he's very good, but I wouldn't really classify him as a legend or one of the greatest.

I doubt he is the greatest in all of music history, but he's pretty good.

Listening to his solo stuff confirmed, for me, that he was the heart and soul of Alice in Chains.
