I don't want to call the landlord since I feel I am always bothering him. I want to do something on my own first.

Yes, for every one that you see there are untold masses of them that you do not see.

You can try putting out a roach motel or using Raid or similar, but if the problem persists, call the landlord and ask about him/her paying for an exterminator.

I would be very concerned! You need to erradicate the roaches before they multiple. We found a gel in a gold and black box at walmart. It is a tube of insecticide for roaches! It works wonderful! You put beads of the gel in the kitcvhen, bathroom etc where it wont be disturbed by pets or children. The box has SPECIFIC instructions included! The roaches eat the gel and waaaalaaa. However, being in an apartment is scary because when you use the bug bombs and that type of treatment for cockroaches, they will run to another apartment until your spray disapates, and then they come back. You might ask a neighbor if they have cockroaches. Sometimes they will deny it cause they think it is just from being a dirty person! Cockroaches will move with you when you move also! So maybe a monthly ritual of bug bombs, and consistant using the gel will help keep you from actually becoming infested! And of course be very careful with leaving food out, including pet foods. If you have seen 2 roaches, you can be sure there are more! Mostly they like to hide til it is dark. You can walk into a bathroom or kitchen late at night and flip on the light and see or hear them scurry to their hiding place! GOOD LUCK

Yes, you would probably want to do something about this. Roaches are not necessarily a sign of a dirty house, they feast on the tinyest of food particles which are easy to miss when cleaning.

If you moved in recently, its possible the roaches were there in the first place, and I would say the landlord has a duty to get rid of them. I wouldn't worry about pestering him, he may even be able to recommend a pest company - but do make sure the company is reputable, you don't want them spraying poisenous sprays near kids toys or the food you eat - thats dangerous!

Depends on how you feel about sharing your apartment with them. If you see them, then they're there. You can try roach traps, but if you're in a building with many apartments then it won't really do any good.

Just because you're keeping your place clean doesn't mean that the other tenants are. The only way to address them is to call the landlord and have the entire building treated by a pro.

You can get powdered Boric Acid from Wal-mart, Rite-aid or just about anywhere. Mix it with powered sugar. They have the same consistency. The powder sugar attracts the roaches and the Boric Acid will kill them. They don't know the difference until it's too late. Put it on something you can slide under cabinets and furniture. If you have children or animals, make sure they can't get to the mixture.
This worked for me when I had a problem in my old apartment.

Keep in mind, for every one or two you see, there are thousands that you can't see!
GOOD LUCK!
