this is not any longer uninteresting for me. all people who's been a fan and actively observed the sport of baseball on the grounds that 2004 knows damn nicely that no longer something is over till this is over. have self belief me, not one of the actual Yankee followers are gloating top now. And all the actual Yankee followers understand that this group has appeared very suspect interior the playoffs interior the twenty first century. The AL East is a combat this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days; each group interior the branch is aggressive. we are constantly looking over the Yankees shoulders on the standings. If something, the reality that the full branch is taking part in stable baseball this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days makes the sport greater exciting with the aid of fact it makes us experience like IF the Yankees DO win the branch, they could have earned it, and not gained it via default. And in the event that they lost, a minimum of they made it perplexing for the eventual branch winner. interior the previous, there have been circumstances the place the Yankees by no potential knew the thank you to shelter injuries with the aid of fact they did no longer have them. there have been circumstances whilst the group became into on a warm streak going into the playoffs, and then incredibly everyone struggled jointly interior the postseason. all of us want the branch race to be a combat, to maintain incredibly everyone's aggressive juices flowing going into the postseason. this is the small issues that beat the Yankees and that's what bothers me maximum. A stolen base right here, a diving capture there, a pinch hitter, and it provides up. this is baseball for you. did you realize that if abode runs counted as outs, the Yankees could have 2 wins all season? That has to alter. i could decide to make certain 15-20 group victories the place no abode runs are hit. i'm no longer an basic fan to thrill. there is plenty that bothers me with this bunch. RISP - vast project. Grandy and Tex hitting sub .250 - project. No extreme danger to scouse borrow outdoors the injured Gardner - extensive project. I freely admit that the Yankees have some issues that would desire to alter. Will they alter or no? this is why i'm excited for the 2nd 0.5. All my questions would be spoke back. It starts this evening, against an Angels group who has the convenience interior the pitching adventure-up in ALL 3 video games. i'm hoping incredibly everyone seems to be rested and able to bypass with the aid of fact there remains an prolonged thank you to bypass.

Not considering any contracts or who will be a free agent - just naming the players I want to see return, in no particular order:
Jeter - needs no explanation
Arod - should be MVP - nuff said
Posada - would be MVP if it wasn't for Arod's stellar season
Abreu - quality right fielder 100 rbi's is fine by me. Great arm for right field. I think he would have a better year than this year.
Cano - Tremendous upside still.
Cabrera - see Cano....
Hughes - see Cabrera....
Rivera - still plenty left in the tank....
Matsui - quality everyday player...can give 20 hr's and 100 rbi's...
Wang - most wins in mlb over the past 2 seasons (38)
Chamberline - can he maintain his dominance??
Kennedy - what we have seen so far is very good. can't wait to see more...

just to name a few.......

I would bring back Paul Oneill, Tino Martinez, Bernie Williams, Scott Brosious, Jimmy Key and David Cone. Of course, I'm talking about from 1996-2000!!! I guess I didn't really answer the question properly!!!

The only vets I would go all out to retain are Jeter, Cano, and Posada.

All others are fair game as trade bait to bring in some solid starting pitching.
