I found a police file of someone that's married to someone I know. I found this criminal record on Florida's Dept. of Corrections website, therefore, I would assume this is a public file as do all criminal records. Is it illegal to share this file with anyone including his wife, their friends, their families, etc?

Thanks.

No, it is not illegal. It would be more of a crappy way to treat someone and sort of a moral issue for you than a legal one. I would seriously consider not doing it, or at least talking to the person directly as rarely are all of the detail of a situation put in a police report or arrest record.

No it would not be illegal

If you found / anyone can find it

The question is how do you know that the wife / familes don't already know this information ?

I'm not sure how someone could go to prison and their wife/ family not know they are there ?

If it is on a public website, anyone can access it. You may think you are doing someone a favor by "sharing" this info with them, but find yourself against the wall for trying to start trouble between them. Most people only want this type info when they are seperated. When they are together and happy, you will probably be told to mind your own business.
