I've had multiple testicular tumors for about 4 years now. I choose to smoke Marijuana to help with the pain, nausea, and stress. Last year my house was raided, cops thought I was a Meth. dealer. A little embarresed to find nothing but my personal stash of weed and a pipe.
I got 1 year probation, 40 hours community service and ordered to treatment after my evaluation. I've done none of it, and have no intentions of doing it either.
They want me to quit smoking weed and drop $350-500 a month on Pharmaceutical Medication with a laundry list of side effects, just to get the same results.
I'm a radio DJ for an active rock station here and have alot of friends and fans who really think I should just get out of Fargo without fighting the system or giving them the satisfaction of taking me down.
My court date is Monday (10/15), to decide my fate. Should I go or get going?

I'm sorry to hear about your illness. You have my sympathy. If I were you, I'd recruit a lawyer from an organization that advocates legally for the medicinal use of medical marijuana to represent you.
Other options (which may also make an interesting radio piece) would be to do some kind of community service like registering people to vote (for the hours) and then also slipping in a petition to legalize medicinal pot in your state. Or maybe "volunteer" for a cancer-awareness non-profit by loading up a bus of patients for a road trip to California, where the local laws allow the medicinal use. Get creative -- I think it would be a great way to simultaneously get attention to your issue, get your community service done, and not bow down to the man.
Good luck, God bless you.

You should go and fight for medicinal purposes. You have a very good debate. What state do you live in? Find out the laws on medical marijuana in your state? Speak to an attorney? Definetly go to court. You do NOT want to be "running from the law" for the rest of your life. Get yourself a case together. Tell the courts what smoking it does for you. It eases your pain, you feel better, it helps you with eating and stress and nausea. You stated that you had a personal stash. If they don't think you are traficking it, I don't think they can put you in jail or anything. We're I am from you are allowed to have an ounce and only get a misdeamenor...unless you have it broke up in baggies..obviously. I mean, use your DJ status as backup. Have fans support you. Fight this if this is what you believe in! That is why we live in America. We have rights! Use that power that you have. Good luck

Unfortunately, if you want to remain free, your only choice is to go. But it's kind of iffy if you go anywhere in the US, since North Dakota could try and extradite you. Not sure whether they'll succeed or not. But unfortunately, even in the states that have medical marijuana laws, the federal government still considers it a crime and will charge you, so the only real solution is to leave the country.
And it's not just illegal drugs. There's a guy doing life in Florida for using his legally prescribed drugs because the government decided he was using too much. They harassed his doctor until he caved and testified against him. The authorities in this country are totally ignorant when it comes to pain control.

If you 'get going' you'll be a criminal the rest of your life. If you go to court and fight for your rights you may lose but you may win a victory for everybody in ND. Good luck!

Hmmm, last I heard, Medical MJ was prescribed by a Doctor, not a personal choice.

do your cs work and you should be able to hqave your meds covered by insurance if not. bring it to court. they should not be able to 'order' you to buy pain meds.
when its over, go somewhere where the drugs laws are little more relaxed
