Actually this is a possibility. BC and USF both have a chance to run the table. LSU could stumble 1 game somewhere. Cal and OSU could lose 1 game. IF BC and USF win out they will be in the title game for sure.

So if BC and USF both were undefeated do you think that would make a good BCS game? Would you believe that the winner was really the best team in the country or would you think they were lucky for all the 1 loss teams?

I think if both BC and USF go undefeated, and no one else does, than they will play each other in the BCS title game. Granted, it will be a horrible game, and no one outside of Boston and South Florida will care about the game, but they will play.

I understand that both teams come from conferences that are thought to be very weak this year, but as of now they are both top 5 teams in the polls and they will most likely not slip unless they lose. Cal could fall to USC, LSU to Kentucky or whoever they face in the SEC title game, and OSU will has a tough game at PSU in a few weeks. It is very conceivable that the three teams lose and BC plays USF for the title.

Man though, I really hope it doesn't happen that way. I wouldn't mind seeing one team or the other playing against LSU or one of the other more traditional powers, but the whole Cinderella thing loses its appeal when its 2 Cinderella's playing each other.

If both teams go undefeated the rest of the way, that in itself would be pretty impressive. Along the way would have beaten some top ranked teams. USF still have to play Rutgers, Uconn (5-0), Cincinnati, and Lousiville (great offense), and beat Auburn and West Virginia, and would definately deserve to be in the title game. BC would have beaten FSU, Virgina Tech, Maryland, and some other team in the conference championship game, which IMO would not be as impressive as USF running the table. But anyway, this would be a graet matchup of Great offense BC vs great Defense and would be a great title game. People just doubt it because the names are different. But I don't see this being much different of a game than say LSU vs Cal, great defense vs great offense, just these names are a little more known. However, just think of this, after the recognition usf has gotten this season, they may finally start to recruit so elite players, imagine how good that team can be then. They have constinatly finished 4/5th in the state recruiting behind Miami, UF, FSU and compete with UCF for players.

edit: I think the stigma of the Big East being a week conference needs to end, USF, Rutgers, UC, and West Virgina are all ranked, with UCONN two winnable games away from joinging them. Lousiville is also a very dangerous team to play because they can outscore anyone on a given night, as long as the defense stops the other team at least once (big if). Also as I mentioned earlier USF will have played a very tough schedule, including beating Auburn (in Auburn), the team i believe will trip up LSU.

Even if Boston College and South Florida went undefeated it is highly unlikely that they would be in a title game. USC, Florida, Oklahoma and LSU are all considered better teams with harder schedules and most likely will out-rank Boston College and South Florida even without perfect seasons.

And what if USF or BC beat a school like LSU, USC or Florida? could that finally get human beings to close up approximately how they do no longer should be there interior the precise 5? USF and BC are ranked the place they're with the aid of fact they should be there.

I am BC fan, and they may be having the best season I can remember, but I dont think they are anywhere near number 1. More like 10 to 15 in the country.

College football is terribly flawed and they need to start a playoff system that works.

Totally agree with iceman in that FBS should have playoffs. I say it should be just like FCS where they have sixteen teams battle it out for the championship and not eight as most sportswriters say it would be. That is the only way we can know who the best team in FBS is. How many team make it into bowl games? 64 teams out of a total of 120. That is over 50 percent! Way to many teams in the postseason.

No, Big East is not as tough as the SEC. And the ACC is even worse. Even if they were undefeated they would not be the 2 best teams in the country.

it would make a good BCS game, but would not be the championship game. i would think: "usf scheduled the wrong SEC team, if only they'd have played LS-who.."
