I have a combi boiler and no water tanks in my house. The water is direct from the mains. What kind of shower should I choose to install?

I always recommend an electric shower, no less than 9.5kw, they are very good and quite powerful these days, as suggested before, it means you have a back up when the boiler is off, the other suggestions here seem to be to get a power shower, sorry but power showers and combination boilers do not match, I think the reference is actually for a thermostatically controlled mixer valve, which can be run off a combi, providing the combi is running.

Get a thermostatic mixer shower. your combi will provide the water pressure at mains force. You don't need a 'power shower' as you already have good pressure / flow.
Electric showers are never as good as a mixer shower run of a combi, and are less reliable.

I'm a plumber who installs 10+ showers every year.

if you have a shower connected to the boiler then it must be suitable for a combo boiler...not all showers can be fitted to a combi system ..if you do fit an electric shower remember that the shower will cut off if somebody else uses the water for something else ..like flushing the toilet ..or turning on a tap ..an electric shower need constant pressure to keep going

Combination hair-washer/shower (the kind you can hang high over your bather for a shower).

Best go for one that uses water, its a bit of pain having to dry yourself but its well worth it, it stops the dogs following you.
