Could it happen? If Torre is fired (I believe he and Posada are very close) , the Mets don't resign LoDuca and Omar Minaya throws a ton of money at Jorge, maybe it could. How would Met fans feel about that?

No. The Yankees will re-sign him if only to a one year deal. He's spent all his career as a Yankee, he's been quoted many times saying that he loves the franchise, the players, and the management. Even if Joe Torres is not with the team next year I think he'll come back for at least the one year.

We need pitching in terms of starting pitching and bullpen help and maybe an outfielder as Moises Alou just didn't get the job done this year more then a catcher. But if they decide not to resign Paul LoDuca for whatever reason then I say go for it but not at an outrageous amount of money and maybe for 2-3 years tops. But I honestly don't see Jorge Posada coming to the Mets.

The Indians were 5-0 against Johan Santana so he can be beaten. In spite of that, I bet teams throw money like whoa at Santana. I don't see Posada with the Mets but then again no one saw Damon leaving Boston for the Evil Empire demonstrating that team loyalty is a product of eras past.

If I am the Mets I would do it, more than for his bat he has a great repor with the pitchers, he knows how to handle the staff. He had a great year at the plate that coincided with lasik surgery, he may have a few more decent years left in him. I think that the Yankees will resign him though, they do not have anyone in the wings just yet. Everyone keeps saying that the Mets need a pitching staff but they also need a catcher that can handle a pitching staff...LoDuca has always been a bat first.

Id take him, for no more than 2 years. Guy was in a contract year, he could come back and his .260 next year with 15 home runs. Even still, with whats out there, he would be the best option. Ramon Castro is hurt way too much to be an everyday starter.

They don't need a catcher. They need to get pitching. They only had a 5 game winning streak as their longest of the season and as you can see pitching shuts down the best of offenses... Indians over the anks.
Make a play for Santana...

Never in a million years. Yankees fans would hang Cashman by his privates.

Mets would love to have him especially when you consider what they have.
