I work in a store that does that... the reason is because not all customers know what to get for their gifts... well we advertise ideas... it doesnt mean go out to the store and buy what ever we are selling... Its to let you know as a customer we got your back if you need something great for certain people we got it for you. So you know what we offer... sometimes there are specials for early shoppers.... lets say you are buying video games well there is a sale at one store in october and when december rolls around that sale is over and you have to pay more for those items. Its saving customers money and stress... The stores are comming up with things early to notify customers to hurry and get things done so you can relax and enjoy... the real question is why is the biggest return day of the year after thanksgiving?????

I think it's actually a good idea. Granted, I would probably wait until Halloween is over just because one holiday at a time kind of deal. However, think about it. In about a month and a half it will be December 1st. Trust me, it goes by fast. I always tell myself I will get gifts early, and I end up going out on December 23rd, only because we open gifts on the 24th!

Don't you hate that? The reason is because stores are always at least two months ahead of the seaon. It's the same reason why clothing stores sell shorts at the end of winter/beginning of spring. I think they should wait until Halloween is over and then put out all of the Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff. It's a dumb idea because right now no one is going to buy Christmas stuff, we still have Halloween on our minds!

Because PEOPLE BUY IT!!! Haven't you ever noticed that things are on the shelves one season before they are used. It gives people time to get the new things early, and retailers time to make the most off of the products. Then they start the clearance process. It's all about profit, and the stockholders.

Money. Think about it - the more time you have to prepare for Christmas the more time you have to spend. Every year I would fall into the same cycle - buy gifts early for my family and then buying more gifts the closer it got to the date.
Businesses know that people love holidays and love to give gifts. So if you have more time to do it t, then the more you will spend.

Ridiculous, yes.
But some can't afford to wait until Thanksgiving to start buying gifts. I know a lady that starts in September, and uses layaway. By December, she has her shopping done.

For people that doesn't like to wait until the last moment to shop, especially when we need to buy decorations. Personally, I rather buy slowly than everything at once.

To give people 3 months to buy gifts so they don't have to be totally broke in December.

I know someone who's getting coal in thier stocking! LOL
I think it would be easier to get things earlier instead of trying to get everything at the last minute.
