Yes...I have a problem tolerating indifference sometimes

2007-10-10 03:43:16 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 1

I can take most difference. I have to say though, that I am very sure of my own beliefs. when I take a stand on something, it is true with me all the way. I cannot be swayed one way or another. that is why sometimes when it comes to religion, I will not tolerate. it doesn't mean that I go crazy and blast that person or group, I notice differences and as long as I am doing what I truly believe in, then everyone else can do whatever. I will get Highly offended and I will speak out if I face Ignorant indifference. I will not tolerate someone telling me I need to change. I don't care about what everyone else is doing, so I expect everyone else to leave me be as well. ( this goes for all of the people out there trying to push your damn religions on other people.
Keep your religions to yourselves as I do too.

patodelamuerte's answer seems to be the most real.

I just like the answers where people say they tolerate difference but they don't tolerate people who don't agree with that opinion. Absolutely brilliant!
Everyone is different and to say you tolerate EVERYBODY's differences may look nice and happy in writing, but it's probably not very truthful.
I, for example, have trouble tolerating dishonest people. (Ironically, my birth name is not "Fukky"... Go figure.)

i am totally able to tolerate difference... its just when people cant tolerate difference that it bothers me! I am far from being to same as any one else, so I know what its like first hand to be different! I am prep, but every one says I am one of the cooler ones because I don't just hang out with the snobby preps, I hang out with jocks and nerds and band geeks and every other "group" of people who are different... and what s wrong with that?

Tolerate...I'm not a fan of that word.
I embrace differences. If someone is 'different' I am instantly fascinated to the point of bieng nosey...sorry! I love different styles, different cultures. I love to talk about people about different hobbies.

The only thing I am completley intolerant of is intolerance...irony, huh? I can not stand people who can not open their eyes and see the person standing next to them as another human bieng...

I sometimes having a hard time accepting smelly people though...but instead of bieng negative, I offer them a bar of soap.

I can tolerate some differences but not all. That holds true for every human on Earth.

Some people can tolerate "honor killings." I can't.

Some people can tolerate pedophilia. I can't.

Some people can tolerate rudeness. I can't.

Some people can tolerate bigotry. I can't.

Some people can tolerate socialists. I can't.

Some people can tolerate attacks on religion. I can't.

Some people can tolerate burning my flag. I can't.

Some people can tolerate graffiti. I can't.

Some people can tolerate gang mentallity. I can't.

Some people can tolerate Rosie O'Donnell. I can't.

Some people can tolerate lutefisk. I can't.

Some people can tolerate being smooched by Mira Sorvino and Marissa Tomei... and you know what? So can I.

of course i can, but unfortuanetly there are those people who just cant...i look down on those people...i see difference as a great thing because it keeps you entertained, what i mean is, if you wwere around people the same as you all the time, that would be boring as $&*T

Yes I can and do. I've found that treating people with respect almost always results in them treating you with respect.
