Actually, Seattle receives only a modest amount of rain annually, less than most cities on the Eastern Seaboard. The precipitation is concentrated in the winter months, and summers are fairly dry. Seattle is notorious for its cloud-cover, which makes it seem like it has rainy weather.
However, some of the rainiest places in the country (100+ in./yr) are in Washington state, particularly those on the western slopes of the Olympic Mountains due to the 'rain shadow' effect.
Many of the rainiest large cities lie on the Gulf Coast (New Orleans, Mobile, etc).

Seattle is the place for rain. I lived in Vancouver for two years it is only a hours drive away. Rained all winter long sometimes it would rain everyday for a month.
Nice if you are sitting in a cozy warm place. But a pain if you have to go out and do something. You always feel wet and cold with no sun shine. But at least it is not -30

i admire the rain too. I stay interior the East Bay. you're right, we get so little rain right here that as quickly as we do it particularly is a intense-high quality replace. it extremely is intense-high quality to be all snug interior and pay attention it on the roof. I visited a chum some years in the past who had moved to Seattle. It rains each and every of the time there and he mentioned it drives you loopy after a jointly as, after which you get used to it and it extremely is high-quality. yet whilst the solar comes out, it extremely is like an entire diverse place. it particularly is the way it particularly is right here, different than backwards. whilst it rains, it extremely is like being on trip.

It doesn't rain very much in Seattle. It's mostly just misty, damp and dark (the sun sets at 3:30 PM in the winter). What drives me really crazy is that even when it's done misting the clouds never clear from November till April and even then it's spotty.

If you want to be warm as well, try Hilo, Hawaii. It rains there about 280 days every year. Expensive to live there, though.
