Georgie, I'm proud of you my boy!! I happen to agree with you 100%. I have never liked the DH. One of the worse moves ever in the history of baseball.
Interleague was interesting when it first took place but now it doesn't really have the impact it once had.
Unfortunately the owners control everything in baseball and all they want is a "Yes" man. Selig has almost single handedly destroyed the game. He has turned his back on EVERY important issue since he took office.
Look at the situation as it pertains to the fans. We can hardly afford to go to a game anymore. Salaries are out of control. Between Fehr and Boras baseball has become as unfriendly a game fan wise as any sport in history.
I know you're taking heat for your comments but I just happen to agree with you. I remember as a kid how I could go to Yankee Stadium early for batting practice and talk to players like Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra. We could walk on the field after every home game and touch the momuments in center field. Today they rope off the entire sections close to the dugouts and there are a hundred stadium officials who don't even allow you to take a picture without being told to "Move on, you can't stand here!" And if you try and walk on the field after the game, you get arrested. And it's not going to get any better.

I agree wholeheartedly with you. Baseball needs someone who looks out for the interest of us fans.
However, unfortunately, I do not think it will be a commissioner. The commissioner is the lapdog of all the owners in the league. He looks out for the interest of the owners and only them. He could care less about the players, and even less about the fans. The only reason the commissioner cares about the fans is because without the fans there would be a lot less revenue for the owners and consequently, the league.
What the fans of baseball need is their own representative that can negociate with both the players and the owners so our interest can be at least heard. Unfortunately, once again, fans are too varied in their interest for this to ever realisticall happen.

I think Selig has done a decent job. There is no reason for the DH to go away. It won't happen no matter who is commissioner because the PLAYERS association won't allow it as it would make guys like Dave Ortiz worthless since he is too fat to play the field.
Inter-league play - agree with you 100%. Not only does it suck, but it is unbalanced. These so called "rivalry" games are a joke.
Double headers - won't happen. Teams would lose ticket sales, so that won't happen. Plus, managers hate them due to the strain on the bullpens. So this will never happen. Plus, 7 plus hours at a game is stretching it, especially with kids in tow.
Sunday night - not bad in my opinions since it is only one game. I can't say I actually watched any of these games unless my team was playing, but it does not harm baseball.

What do you expect from someone who is good friends with Bush?
We aren't going to stop going to games and the people in charge know this. Unless attendance seriously drops and consequently, their revenue goes down, why would any commissioner run things differently?
I agree though that more needs to be done about the steroid situation. Selig doesn't seem to be especially concerned with the integrity of the game.
To be honest though I have to admit I like the Sun PM games on ESPN. It's one of the only chances you get to see teams outside of your metropolitan area play each other see how they play.

Georgie, when surfing under the influence, it is polite to bring enough mushrooms for everyone.
Seligula is the owners' CEO. Is there any billion-dollar corporation in the world with a people-friendly CEO? Hint: no. These (disavowed scions) are out for (a) their own pockets (b) their shareholders' profits (or at least, avoiding their wrath) and (c) their employees, maybe, if there's five minutes left in the day. Consumers? Totally fungible, considered no better than cattle, give 'em bread and circuses.
MLB has increased its revenue enormously under Selig; the owners have little criticism of his administration. And the fans keep lining up -- another attendance record in 2007, 79.5 million -- so whatever would the owners want to change?
Boras likely would make a good commissioner, but no one wants to hear this so I won't expand on it.

Excactly. We need a commissioner who cares about the fans. Thats the mean reason that the MLB is losing their younger and fan population!
Selig is a moro* plain and simple. We need someone who will make baseball FUN.

Baseball has sold out just like football and Hockey. Whatever it takes to make the almighty dollar. Gone is the doubleheader gone is the early start to night games gone is the day game gone is the fans advantage. Advantage Selig.

We surely need a Commissioner who's not a joke like Selig is. We can thank the owners for the sad situation we have now since they where the ones who forced Fay Vincent out of power & installed Selig as a puppet commisioner to appease them.

I'd be happy with a Commissioner who would start banning the roid heads from the game, personally.
