When my kids could hold the bottle themselves, I began switching to plastic lidded cup, then to plastic cup without lid. Ground up whatever I cooked for them, fruits, real food, didn't use baby food much. Son is 6' 9", daughter 5' 10", couldn't have hurt them much not to have formula for 12 months.

every baby is different. some are smaller than they need to be and so their peditrician may reccomend keeping them on formula well into 15 monhts. most babies can be off by 12 months but it is acceptable to start the weaning process a little earlier by mixing cow's milk and formula together and doing less and less formula until 12 months. it's best to talk to your peditrician and they can tell you which plan would be best for your child since their needs could be different than the "average". good luck :)

My daughter is 11 months and 2 weeks old and I'm still giving her formula. This is my first baby so I'm not too sure how to transition her to milk, so I'm waiting until I see her pediatrician at the end of the month before I stop her formula.

At about 10 months I started to give a few ounces of organic whole milk to my daughter. By the time she was 12 months she was completely weaned off of formula. Be cautious when giving juice, many toddlers have a mouth full of cavities b/c of too much juice. They shouldn't have more than a few ounces of juice diluted w/ nursery water a day. Any more is way too much sugar and calories. And it has no nutritional value.

for my area it particularly is merely somewhat too quickly to objective weaning your toddler. i presumed approximately weaning at 8 months yet chanced on it confusing because of the emotional bond. i comprehend each and every woman is diverse, yet once you supply up now, it's going to be plenty harder on your breasts than in case you wait a minimum of till your toddler is a million year old. i at present weaned my 14 month old and it replaced right into somewhat unhappy for me and the toddler, even though it extremely is been an elementary journey for my breasts - they have not gotten quite engorged, or to the factor the place i'm in plenty soreness because of the greater desirable milk being stored. good luck whenever you prefer to wean your toddler and luxuriate interior the time you have left to do it.

Once they are one year old you switch to WHOLE milk in addition to baby food. You can switch to 2%, 1%, or skim milk when the baby is 2 years old. Don't give them more than 21 oz of dairy per day or this can cause constipation.
