how true ist the story that muslims are very oppressed is some parts of india?

i think it's very true,,india has a long history with being at war with muslim nations,,especially pakistan,,their neighbors, a 99% muslim country,,most indians, living in India,,feel like their relatives that are muslim were forced to convert or are mistreated within the religion,,

Any story that the Muslims are oppressed in any part of India is totally false. In rural India , their relationship with others is very cordial. No one even think them to be Muslims, as people of all community participate together in each others festivals, marriages and other functions. In urban area ,people with vested interests do try to create a rift between Muslims and others for their own benefits. By now Muslims have seen through the plots of these vested interests and do not fall in the trap.As they are a minority, Govt. of India has always been giving them all facilities for the last six decades. Muslims have even been vice president and President of India. A good number of Muslims are in the Central cabinet.A majority of Muslims living in India are satisfied living life peacefully and hate such miscreants who spread misinformation that they are oppressed in India.

Ive only ever been there on a 2 weeks holiday in my lifetime..i did hear about this happening in some rural parts but not in the major cities. Muslims are a minority there and im sure there are others too like Christians and/or people of other faith other than the main religion being Hinduism.

I dont know why this is..but then again..people will be oppressed for a million reasons other than religion alone..im still looking for answers myself !!

Muslims are a minority in India owing to partition. If they are not happy in India I am sure they can still move to Pakistan. I have been to India many times however and have travelled and I can honestly say I have never encountered and difference. Some states, such as Karnataka, are predominantly muslim (and dry in this case i.el no alcohol) so no you have been misinformed. Lots of people live in bad circumstances in India and no doubt some of them are muslims just as there are hindus and christians.
