Both my parents families started off in Ireland (1800's) and moved to India. My parents came to the UK in 1947. So I am Anglo Indian from both sides of my family. I have traced my Fathers side back to 1804 but am stuck on my mothers side. I am now trying to trace my husbands family, who are also Irish but with the names O'Flynn & Kelly being such popular names in ireland i am not having much luck.

I am Polish and Slovak, with a proud family history.

I know a lot about my family history; having researched several generations back and keeping geneaology records for the family.

I would love to have the genealogical DNA tests done for both father and mother side, which gives more info about where you are from, when I have a few hundred dollars to spare.

Altogether, I can trace roots to Croatia, Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, France, Germany, Switzerland and 2 different Native American tribes (Ogala Soiux and Blackfoot). I'm in the process of learning about my family history because most of what I know is verbal tradition, passed down, and a lot of that is legend. I do know, because we have currency and other records to prove it, that I'm decendent of Croatian (or possibly Serbian) royalty, although considering who the royals were, that's not something to brag about. On my dad's side, I know that I have several relatives who fought in the Civil War, for the Confederates, and that at one time, my family owned a large portion of the state of Georgia.

German and Irish, mostly.
some French, Scots and other things mixed in, too.
We've traced some branches of the families back to the 1700s.

One side of my family is from Germany and the other side is from Poland. Alot of the records are in Poland but the building they were in was burned down in WWII. It is hard to go back. One of my great -grandparents left Germany just before Hiltler entered the country.

i watched a 60 minute segment sun. about an african- american lady who though a y chromeazone d.n.a. test learned that many generations ago she had a distant relative who is of white decent. they decided to meet and felt a connection to each other which enforced my suspicion that all god's children are related no matter where we were born or our color of skin. i hope all the ignorant racist bigots learn of this new science as i always thought i was german and italian i now believe were all sisters and brothers !
