Facebook started out as a socail network site for students at Harvard (by a now 22-23 yo Harvard student) and then spread to all colleges, then high schools, then employers, and then to everyone. It is similar to myspace, but is generally (till recently) considered to be a more safe or secure site where people have to be in one of your networks (school, region, work, etc.) in order to see any of your contact information. Or even anything about you for that matter. I personally still think that it is a lot safer than myspace when people use common sense. You can control exactly what other people see (and soon to be what certain friends can see) on your page and how far they can go to find out about you.

It is a social networking computer program that enables people to exchange messages and social information. It is moderated more than Myspace and has become more attractive to adults as a result.

It is a book with a face!!! No, I'm playing. It is similar to Myspace. It allows students to connect with each other and allows them to interact in many different ways.
