I checked over the past 120 years. If you were born on January 22nd, your sun sign is unequivocally Aquarius.
Were you born on the 20th of January, you would need to check the year, for a fact, and you'll probably need to know what time of day and the location to determine whether the sun was in Aquarius or Capricorn. If you were born on the 19th or the 21st, just a quick check of the year would be sufficient. There have been a few years in the past 125 when the sun went into Aquarius on the 19th, and likewise a few years when it stayed in Capricorn until the 21st, but in both those situations it would have been for people born late in the day (close to midnight) on the 19th or early in the morning (close to midnight) on the 21st.
By the 22nd, the sun is usually at least a full degree into Aquarius, if not 2 degrees or more...
A cusp is merely the transition point from one thing to another. There's no "blending" or being both.

The start or end time of a sign isn't written in stone, there are a lot of factors into figuring out which sign a person is when they are born on the cusp. The sun doesn't always travel through into Aquarius promptly at midnight. The best way to find out if that person is truly an Aquarius or a Capricorn is to have an astrologer calculate their information, such as their place of birth, time of birth and year of birth. Yes, you are correct. It is the Capricorn/Aquarius cusp. The main theme of this cusp is called, "Mystery and Imagination" and the "Capriquarius" concept is from January 17-22. Why does the Capriquarius start from Jan 17-22? Capricorns ruling number is 8, 1+7=8. Aquarius' ruling number is 4, 2+2=4. It's Aquarius...my birthday is the 26th. Aquarius is from January 20 - February 18. I'm guessing that "cap cusp" means "on the cusp of capricorn" which means that you would be born at the end of Capricorn (December 22 - January 19) and the beginning of Aquarius.

well mine is jan 22 1977 (place of birth chirala, Andhra Pradesh, India.)
but many charts show that my sun is in Capricorn , moon in aquarius and mars, mercury, ascendant in saggittarius, while some show that sun in aquarius , moon in pisces and mars mercury,ascendant, in Capricorn.... I am totally confused by this. ive seen many and many but cant figure out exactly. if any one can help me out would be great relief. I will be able to sleep. waiting eagerly...thnq
