It is fun. Lots of mindless violence and running away from cops. Should keep you busy for hours. Enjoy

I personally think it's the best GTA out there. The game itself is fun, the characters are cool, and they even have a really good cast of characters in the game (Ray Liotta as Tommy for example)
A lot of people like San Andreas better and I understand why, it is a bit more realistic, you can ride a bike and swim and be fat if you want, bit more option for customizable characters
But yeah, I vote for Vice City, it's a great one, but just be careful you don't mix up Vice City with Vice City Stories

The "granddaddy" of all interactive games. You control the events. You can carry out the assigned missions....go wandering around collecting weapons, body armor and 'hidden packages'..which look like small Tiki Idols floating in the corners of buildings and other out of the way places. For every 10 you collect you receive some type of weapon back at your safe house(s).
Spend some time just running around Vice City. You have to complete several of the in-game missions before the bridges to the other island portion of the city opens up. Wander around the portion that's open to you initially. Get used to the streets and where your safe house is and the quickest and easiest routes to get there. Believe me you'll need that knowledge as the game progresses. Once you get to the other side of the island...different style vehicles are available for you and even a few speed boats and a helicopter or two...or three.
As a suggestion...don't bother with the knuckleheads that use cheats. The game is challenging enough and cheats aren't necessary anyway. In fact...they're only used by losers who I've discovered if they can't make it through a simple video game without cheating they'll be a loser in life as well. But....isn't that what bridges and tall buildings are for?
No..I suggest you go to Amazon and order the Brady Games manual that gives you the walk through of each mission and layouts of the island and descriptors of ALL vehicles, weapons at your disposal and lays out all the side missions you can do for extra $$$$. Plus...the soundtrack is great! Vice City Public Radio (VCPR with Maurice Chavez) is one of my favorites.
Have fun. This is truly a game that you'll play over and over.

Yes GTA:Vice City is a good game and is also really fun. All you really have to do in this game is to do a bunch of missions. There are also some side missions you can do for fun. I suggest you start playing this GTA game first to understand the basics of how the game is played. Then you can move on to the next GTA.

it is a good game but if your getting it this late why not just get san andreas its pretty much the same game but with a lot more things to do.
What you do is commit grand theft auto....run around doing jobs for people (which usually include killing people and driving around) rising to power....its basicly like the movie scarface.

Saints row 2 in case you like exciting GTA in case you want a greater severe outlook saints row has greater valuable properties yet they're greater often than not for exciting like being on television and stuff yet GTA has the greater severe outlook and much less exciting issues to do although getting under the impact of alcohol and utilising is often exciting on there

When you buy this for computer I prefer San Andreas..You can play this game online...Its very cool and funny!
