yeah its sad but true, not sure of the percentage.
each year in the UK we do comic relief and raise millions, every single year and every year we hear the same stories of poverty and deprivation and disease...this year a lot of Africa has been flooded, a major catastrophe..but the rulers of the counties must be rubbing their hands together, they take the aid the rest of the world sends and uses it to fund their armies and the civil wars.

I met a Nigerian a few years ago, and he was a milk importer, I asked why Nigeria needed milk importers and joked "were there no cows"...he said no the government killed all the cattle in his region..so people cant farm and produce a dairy industry for themselves, they have to import export then the government gets the taxes...!

That's what I've heard. When we send money, usually some treasury for some government receives it. That government is then tasked with utilizing it, and the poor rarely sees any benefit.
