They really need a left handed bat and a shortstop...and please dont say A-Rod! Although he always has a good season he chokes in October, and The Tigers are looking to win in October...that wont happen with A-Rod on our team.

I don't think you will agree with me on this one. The Tigers started out hot in 2007 because of their pitching and only faded when the pitching crumbled and, as a team, finished with an ERA of 4.58 which was actually below the Yankees that finished at 4.50. Their offensive numbers were fine all year long and only the Yankees finished with a higher team batting average and more runs scored. I really believe they are one superstar pitcher short of the possibility of going all the way next year. If I were the Tigers I would do everything I could to get Johan Santana should he actually become available. it would be a huge decision and commitment to make a move like that but I believe it would make them the front runner in the AL for years to come. How does a rotation of Santana, Verlander, Bonderman, Robertson, and Miller (I am a huge UNC fan so I have to throw in Andrew Miller) sound to you? Kenny Rogers is getting near the end but he might have a good year left in him as well.

Pitching and Relief Pitching. The offense will score runs and get big hits thats the bottom line, the Tigers need to get more leads and hold all of those leads. That wont happen much with Rogers and Jones on their team!

youre right on there georgie with what the tigers need.. if i were dd though id start in the bullpen.. that seemed to be the biggest problem coming down the stretch. the middle guys didnt do very well this year. byrdak, grilli, ect... as far as lh bat goes, lets just hope to god it isnt bonds*, abreu, or giambi...

Adma Dunn is available for the left hand hitter and Tejada is availble for ss...those two would put them over the hump.
