I have tried grounding it with one foot. I have tried to pull the cord using both hands. I am no weakling but, unfortunately, I give up! Any suggestions? It is supposed to be an "easy start" model. Thanks very much!

I too have a troy built, and the engine is a briggs and stratton, series 210000...

I don't use my washer very often, so it seems I have to re-learn how to use it every time I pull it out. The worst part for me is also trying to start it. I have a bad back, and I get so frustrated when trying to pull-start. I think there's a good bit of resistance on the rope pull.

Anyway, after I try several times and get just about worn-out, I realize I've always over-looked a step in the process:
Move choke control to choke position. Move throttle control to FAST position. Turn fuel shut-off valve ON. Move stop control to ON position. As soon as I discover the step I missed, it usually fires right up. One more note: You may have the OIL GARD light in rocker stop switch. If you do, it warns of low oil level. Light will flicker and engine will not start, or restart. You have to add oil. If you run low on oil while the engine is running, it won't automatically shut-off. It just won't start or re-start.

good luck

I SURE THAT YOU HAVE FOLLOWED THE STARTING INSTRUCTIONS, BUT HERE ARE SOME THINGS TO MAKE SURE OF. THERE IS USUALLY A OFF/ON SWITCH. OFF WHEN STOPPING THE MACH. AND OF COURSE ON BEFORE YOU START. THE CHOKE NEEDS TO BE OPEN FULLY WHEN COLD, THE GAS USUALLY HAS A SHUT OFF. CHECK THAT, MAKE SURE THE PLUG IS NOT FOULEDOR LOOSE OR THE WIRE IS NOT LOOSE. THE WATER HAS TO BE ON AND RUNNING THROUGH THE MACH BEFORE STARTING OR YOU'LL HURT THE PUMP. HERES PROBABLY THE PROBLEM THOUGH. THE PRESSURE BUILDS UP WHEN TRYING TO START, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RELEASE THE PRESSURE BY PRESSING THE GUN TRIGGER EACH TIME BEFORE YOU PULL THE ROPE AGAIN. I USUALLY JUST HOLD THE TRIGGER OPEN WHILE STARTING TO RELIEVE ALL PRESSURE. I HOPE THIS HELPS, CANT THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE

I could not find the 2100 model on the internet site, but the 2200 model says to press the primer bulb 5 times before pulling the cord. It also said to wait 2 seconds each time you press the primer bulb. Have you tried using the primer bulb?

Take it back to the place of purchase. Other then the obvious which has been previously suggested. Is there oil in the engine? Is there gas in the tank? Is the fuel shutoff turned on?
Is the spark plug wire connected?

Is there a "choke" or "throttle" lever on the motor?

Is the spark plug in tight?

You put fuel in it, right?

What does the owner's manual say?

That's all I can think of.

Put some gasoline in it. Then it will probably start.
