Any restrictions will only lead to more and more government control of our lives! Today it is restricting advertising to children. Tomorrow what will it be? Restricting advertising to adults? Restriction what can and not be said in a conversation?
We do not need Big Brother to control our lives. People make choices. If you do not want you child to eat fast food, do not buy it for them!

Only parents can buy children food, or give them money to do it. Advertising would be wasted on children if parents took a hold of themselves and started deciding who was in charge of nutrition in the house.
Obesity is a problem with parenting - advertisers know this. Parenting is not easy at the best of times, and no child comes with a manual, but it is about time parents woke up to themselves and the facts.
Parents are in charge - and sometimes they do NOT know what's best, it's true. However, it is rather silly to blame children for what their parents have allowed them to become: pestering, greedy, rude brats who think of nothing but commercial stuff, money and food.
This problem is a product of the times we live in, and until a new wave of parents come in who take their roles seriously and develop the kind of discipline, awareness and commonsense that raising children requires we will be in the same situation.
Now what sort of parents are the chubby, whining, texting generation going to make, do you think?
More of the same?

Yes fast food should be allowed to advertise. It's the parents that buy the junk food, not the kids. We need to take responsibility for our own eating habits.
If People would stop going in and buying the "happy fatty" meals the fast food industry would stop advertising to the child market

Even though I don't like the tactic of bribing children with toys and games and cartoon characters to lure kids into fast food restaurants, it is still ultimately the parents choice to go there, if they constantly allow their children to talk them into going. You seldom see children riding their bikes to the local fast food outlet and spending their allowance there, it's the parents that drive them there and pay for it.

Kids are not obese because they eat fast food! They are obese because their parents let the TV, computer, or video games babysit them instead of making them get up and get teh recommended 1 hour of physical activity everyday. Parents actually need to parent and not let the TV do it!

Of course they should be able to advertise to whomever they want. It's parents tht are responsible for making sure their children get a well-balanced meal and enough exercise!

Don't the kids today have parents that can control them? Stop blaming everything on other people and take your life back!

It is the parents responsibility to guide their children into what is good for them & wahta is not. Parents need to stop looking for scapegoats for their failure to teach their children the difference between what's healthy for them & what's not.
