I might be moving to vegas (north, south, henderson, paradise etc-i should say im moving to the suburbs of vegas) has anyone moved there that's not from there or been living there a substantial amount of time that could tell me some pros and cons about moving that close to vegas?!

Henderson is my town.
18 months and love it
Work in LV and visit on occaison
but there's so many things to do here.
my gym membership is $12 a month
you can shop any time of day.
you can go to the outlets and save money
Visit California and see the mountains
Boulder City has some real nice places.
Pool days begin in March some times and you still go now.

And here was me hoping you would move to Toronto and sample some Canadian Winters :o))
Vegas is a great place to live and work. Housing closer to Vegas is expensive but further out is more in line with regular housing prices. Commuting into Vegas can be a pain if you are working close to the strip and yes you will definitely need your own wheels. Watering of Golf Courses is making Vegas much more humid than it used to be. However I am sure that you are going to love living there.

If you stay away from the Strip, Las Vegas could be any large metropolitan area.

Cons - it gets very hot here in June, July, and August
Pros - it's a dry heat

IF you like to gamble then its great. If not-who cares how close you live to Vegas. It's almost the same anywhere you go down there unless you live on a golf course

a girl friend of my used to live there but the one thing that
is the water shortage , high cost of living , lack of jobs ....but after that is great to live there . also north of Vegas there is a mining in the hills for opal ....I believe it's 30 dollars Day ...
and what you find you keep or sell it to the owners of the place .

Pros:
The Strip
Theres something to do at night
The Illegals[races]
Clubs
Alcohol everywhere

Cons:
Theres never anything new to do
It gets boring
Too hott in summer
Too cold in winter
Really hard to get a job unless you know people who work where you want to work
You cant use the sprinklers during the day??[wtf]

Dont move to Vegas

It sucks
I hate it here!!!!!!
