I have had all sorts of trouble with foxes digging up the lawn etc. I have tried fencing & spray deterents around the boundaries, none of these have worked. In the end I came across a product called a scarecrow. It's a cross betwwen a water sprinkler and a motion detector (like you get for outside security lights). You attach it to the water supply using a garden hosepipe and when the battery powered detector senses movement it releases a jet of water. The noise & movement seems to be enough to deter most of the foxes. The manufacturer says that it only uses about a cup of water with each detection.

I like foxes in my garden to keep the moles, gophers and mice down. I haven't seen any since a fox took up residence nearby.

There used to be a chemical called Renardine but has (surprise ! surprise !) been banned by the government. its best to erect an electric fence,This is more humane than using dogs, snares or shotguns. This method doesnt harm any wildlife, including birds ,chicken or pets.

Wee wee. If you pee around the area you suspect the fox is getting in, the fox will not cross the boundary.

Strange, but very true.

Foxes eat all kinds of pests. Consider yourself lucky to have them. You will need to put up a tall (and deep) fence to keep them out.

Pour vinegar around the outside edge. I have seen this work, they can't stand the smell of it.
