spybot and norton. I have read others questions about going to download.com and also getting adware.i need a direct site that i can just click where it will take me right to it or I need to know exactly where to go step by step to get to a dowload. my pop ups come up as soon as i get to a website and when i am reading my mail, i get so many pop ups it moves my mail down so i have to scroll down just to read one and so forth. I have also did the internet options thing where i have it on no pop ups. but now it ask me every time if i want to allow pop-ups, which is every 2 minutes and takes forever to let me continue if i say no and i still get popups even after saying no. I need to know also how to get this warning off after i download something. I am at work now and i am going to print your details of what i need to do when i get home. give me a direct link to a download so all i have to do is key it in or if i can pull this up I can just click directly on the downlod i need &start free

Your PC is infected. Pop-ups are mostly caused by adware, spyware, and other malicious and unwanted software and using pop-up blocker won't help an infected PC. Since no single program can detect and eradicate all spyware, I recommend using multiple programs. Ad-aware and Spybot are are among the best (they are free) but feel free to use additional anti-spyware programs if you have a bad infection.

Running these programs in Safe Mode (tap F8 as the computer boots up and choose to boot to safe mode) can be more effective.

If you do not have an updated anti-virus program always running, you need to get one. Install only 1, but you can get AVG, Avast! or AntiVir for free.

there are many programs out there that just wont allow you to stop clicking on pop ups, its a part of advertising and buying more things, the only best solution is to wipe out your system clean and start off fresh, most of those free programs are just more trouble in the longrun, even anti virus programs some of em, just learn to be safe at what sites u go on the internet, and u really dont need no virus protection at all, just turn on ur windows firewall, but its going to keep naggin u no matter what u do, even if u uninstall it u might still have problems, just reinstall ur pc, back up ur data u want, and start out fresh

I'd do two things - first I'd download Mozilla Firefox and use this as my browser until the problem gets sorted in Internet Explorer.

Then I'd download AVG (anti-virus guard) anti-virus- its free and does the job - I'd also download the anti spyware from there - its only a trial version but see what you can clear up with it.

You can download Ad-aware here:

Are you using Yahoo's toolbar? It comes with a pop-up blocker which I find most effective.

Instead of downloading a bunch of programs and doing a ton of scan, which could cause more trouble. i would go here, they helped me big time getting rid of a nasty virus that caused a ton of popups.
