There is no cure as of yet. The most you can do, until science does find a cure, is to treat the symptoms. Use an OTC product to help alleviate whatever is bothering you--stuffy nose, headache, etc. There are some products that even claim to shorten the duration of a cold. Most importantly, get adequate rest and drink plenty of fluids. A cold will generally run it's course in 3 to 7 days.
What you shouldn't do is take antibiotics. Colds are caused by a rhinovirus (there are hundreds of varieties) not a bacteria.
Get better soon.

There is a product on the market in US called AIrborn it has a mixture of stuff in it that works great for me. I also use zinc lozenges. Does not cure but seems to reduce time by boosting immune system. I would not suggest taking anything if you have dietary restrictions or health problems without consulting a Dr. Airborn is high in sodium and has 100 daily allowance on some of its supplements so do not take for more than 3 days.

Oil of oregano works great for me
Goldenseal or a goldenseal/echinacea mix works well too (do not take goldenseal if you are or may be pregnant)
To relieve congestion and a runny nose, put a few drops of eucalyptus oil into hot water and breath in the vapors with a towel over your head (you can add some lavender oil as an antiseptic and to soothe the breathing passages, or some thyme oil to help with a runny noise)
for sinuses, a neti pot works wonders
for sore throat, Sambucol works great (in health food stores), it's a syrup made of elderberry, kills virus and bacteria on contact
Also Airborne is really good

There is no cure for a cold (yet).
You can alleviate some of the symptoms but you cannot cure it.
It takes between 5-7 days for your immune system to gear up and destroy the virus.

There is no cure for a cold except for time. But there are things you can do to make you feel better while it works its way out of your system.

First, drink hot liquids. Hot tea or a hot herbal infusion, hot broths, stand in a hot, steamy shower

Second, get lots of vitamin C. Naked Power-C makes me feel so much better when I'm sick and seems to alleviate the symptoms.

If you have a cough, Ricola Lemon Mint or even hard candies are good.

And finally, get lots of rest.

Vitamin C is supposed to help against colds. Some old timers told me to drink Ginger Brandy.

My Mom always told me to starve a flu, but feed a cold. Eat lots of good, hearty, healthy meals and your cold will go away.
