Religious people hate freedom. Christians in this country do more to undermine freedom the Arabs ever will.
It's mostly a symptom of fear based religions like the Abrahamic religions from guess where? The Arabian people.

You sound like G. Bush to whom it appeared that the most important reason why the "terrorists" attacked (?) America was 'cos they hated their (American) freedom.
Look, my friend, nobody (and that includes the Arabians) hates yr. freedom. The freedom you talk about resides in America and so it doesn't impact in any way on the man in Arabia if he doesn't want to be affected. In fact most people probably do not give a damn about yr. freedom. They d/4 have no resons to hate yr. freedom. I think it is very naive to reason the way.
This "hatred of freedom" thing is just a political thing. I think the hawks in America should start shopping for a more passable excuse for their atrocities.

What American freedom. Ever since Bush has stole office those freedoms have been dwindling. Arabian people have nothing to hate.

They don't, but several people who used to hold power and hard line conservatives in the region want to enact Sharia law and clamp down on freedoms. The only way for them to continue to enforce their fundamentalist religion and lifestyles is through complete population control. Many worry that adopting American freedom will lead to other American things that are taboo in their culture. These things include women working and being allowed to instigate relationships and sexual encounters, pre-marital sex, men don't have to wear beards, women don't have to cover everything... The ones who don't want this are unwilling to compromise, which is essential to democracy, and when a good portion of their leadership feels this way it is difficult to introduce freedom in a manner that everyone finds acceptable.

You'll have to think for your self on this one... whatever nationality you are, in your past there have been conflicts with other races and nations... why do you hate all of them ?... give up? you don't... right? So to assume that all "Arab" people feel anything is a gross generalization.... and Frankly it's not your own. Turn off the hate media in your head, they distract you as they steal from you ... they're pick pocketing your mind.

Because of the impurities that Ahmadinejad spoke of during his speech at Columbia.
They DON'T have gays in the hardcore Islamic countries and hang 16 yo girls for crimes against chastity in the streets.
Everything else is a smoke screen and regardless of our actions concerning foreign policy, these moral issues will always be at the center of ME hatred directed at the west. The Saudis are the epitome of religious radicalism.

Extreme Arabists hate western freedoms because:
1) They think that adult children making their own life choices brings shame on the head of the family (especially if the son or daughter becomes successful)
2) They associate material wealth with moral decadence.
Put those two together, and you have a recipe that prevents economic and political progress.

I think it's a little more complicated than that. Stop listening to talk radio and watching Fox news and pick up some real newspapers...not tabloids...and better yet, get some other perspectives. Read the London Times (www.thetimes.co.uk) or another English-language foreign paper.
You're doing one of two things: you're asking a genuine question, in which case I urge you to expose yourself to more news sources. Or, you're doing an argumentative begging-the-question thing, in which case, no one will be able to tell you anything since your mind is closed tight.

they probably do not know enough about americans to make their own judgement. the media has the entire world hating each other because it benefits their position in power. believing the media completly is very unwise no matter which country.freedom of the press is a scary power.

They do hate American feedom because it's having an influence on their culture and they dont like that. They dont want their women to become like ours, they have roles set and thats why many of them move here. That's why our country has so many different cultures because they dont understand why they have to live a life that they dont want to be part of.
