I can be. I think my sister is that way. She hasn't found the right guy and is in her late 30's. She had cancer and almost died several time in her twenties and early thirties, so she figures that they right guy, one who would be willing to deal with the possibility that he cancer may return, wont ever come along.

It also can be that they had some bad experience in the past that make her feel like marriage isn't for her. I know that after my divorce I told myself and others that I would never get married again, yet here I am married with kids.

There are to many reasons to list, why a women may say those word.

There are some women who are waiting for the right person, and some women who really mean it. I have been married twice, and when I say I will never do it again, I mean it. People tend to not believe that and they say, "oh yes you will, just give it time." But it's a conscious decision I have made after a lot of thought, I honestly don't think I am cut out for marriage, and don't really see the point of marriage anymore. But every woman is different. Are there some who are just saying it? Sure.

Being divorced there are days that I say that and days that I want to get married. Sometimes if I realize that someone is interested in me and I am not interested in them I will actually use that line so they kinda back off and I dont have to hurt any feelings. But honestly it all depends on the guy, if he is going to be the one. She may be young and still out having fun too. There is so many different reasons. Try just getting to know her a little more if she isnt your girlfriend already. If she is then its a sign that your relationship will pretty much get no further than there.
Good Luck Sweetie!

She probably means it at the time. I know when I said it I meant it. When my partner and I first got together, we had both agreed on never getting married, but turns out we're engaged. I changed my mind because while I was never interested in marriage, comitting to spending my life with someone was acceptable (why buy the piggy when you get the sausage for free right?) and he talked me into a wedding by explaining that it's important to our families, so I say, hey why not? I'll play bride for a day.

It could mean she thinks her prospects aren't too good so no one should be surprised if she doesn't get married, or she's been hurt really bad (or knows someone who was) by a relationship and is gun-shy.
I once said I would never marry a man who already has kids, and guess what, I married one with two!

If she says it she means it. But the right one may catch her by surprise!! Shes probably thinking nobody is right because all these men are bad news. Doesn't mean she has to get married to be happy.

Like the Honeymoon Suite song says "Love changes everything"

Most people will bend or break their personal rules if they find that one special person.

Women speak with emotions and words at the same time, but don't usually use the correct matching words to their emotions.

Some time you have to ignore the words spoken and listen to how she said it.
